"Felt so bad for my actively injured teammates, he did not care and wanted us to push through. Didn't care about weight coaches forcing us to do exercises that hurt us and caused injuries to flare. Almkst injured me cause he tried to "help" hold a box, tipped it of balance, and almost smashed all of my fingers cause he thought it was "too heavy." Misogyny. He didnt care about the teams mental health either, not one bit. He pretty much forced girls to get on the bus to a swim meet after being exposed to covid and them stating they didnt feel comfortable going after he was sick VERY recently as well and took no steps to protect them team. Legit teared up at a team meeting when politely asked to wear a mask at practice after being sick repeatedly because many of us were immunocompromised and could get seriously sick. He compared that whole situation to 9/11 and the team winning the meet and the team bonding to the day after which is incredibly disrespectful. On top of all of this, he has no idea what he's talking about. I swam for a decade at that point and he was telling me opposite things than any other coach had every told me. He constantly underestimated us in practice with what we could handle. It was honestly insulting as an athlete. He didnt know what we were going through as student athletes cause he never experienced it. A lot of the times I got more help and advice from our GA, who was a cross country runner and had no prior swimming experience. Safe to say I (and several other teammates) left the team, and I personally have not swam AT ALL since being there because this left such a bad taste in my mouth."

"The worst coaching I've ever experienced. He compared team comradery to the day after 9/11... Very insulting to those who come from military families. He does NOT care about his athletes' well-being. Don't let those puppy eyes fool you! Needless to say, I walked away from the sport I loved my senior year."

"swam for him for one year, had to stay in a mental health ward so as not to kill myself because of how he treated us, and when he asked me why I felt like I needed to, he felt it was unnecessary 'because I was just being dramatic and needed to get over it'. made athletes swim while injured, constantly had racist undertones in how he treated people. continuously dismissed concerns about his behavior and at one point called me a 'lil' girl'... um I was in my twenties. Glad I only had to do a year; otherwise, no way I would have survived the environment."

"I wasn't able to give any 0 stars, so just be aware that the one-star rating is generous. It doesn't seem that they are knowledgeable when it comes to the sport of swimming, let alone college athletics. Pushes athletes to compete while injured and is very anti-redshirt, even when the athlete gives a reason as to why they should redshirt. He is also very two-faced when it comes to the way he acts around parents, putting on a facade when the athletes' parents are around. He also bullies his athletes (comments about their weight and not in a way that is coming out of concern, but instead to talk down to the athlete). "

"I swam for him for one year and transferred as soon as I could. During my recruiting process he was the coach I dreamed about. He was responsive, told me the training set up that would be tailored to me etc. It wasn’t until I got to campus early for the Brown County Fair that I realized how socially awkward he was. I chalked it up to there is a bunch of new freshman that he has yet to be around like the returning swimmers. The first big red flag I got was during a practice he made us get out of the water and run BAREFOOT ON THE TRACK with nothing but our swimsuits and caps on. All while this was being recorded for the Instagram (never got posted). Additionally he canceled 18 swim practices first semester alone. Let's just say I'm almost 100% sure that I swam more at the y then with Kaden. He also had a tendency to say things without thinking. There are three that come to mind. The first one before the pentathlon at UMary where we were doing a t-shirt relay he told us, without promoting, "the widest girls go first on relays." I remember we all stood there and were like what? Since when does weight have anything to do with relay order. But looking back it makes sense because he could never put decent relays together. The second thing he said to me privately. I was asking about the set and faster intervals because I knew my lane mate and I could do it easily. Instead of saying no and giving me an explanation he told me "you need to learn to shut up and swim like a good girl." Excuse me what? And finally the last thing that was spoken to me was at my end of season meeting. He had gotten wind that I was planning on transferring and instead of trying to get me to stay, I was the only one that could swim my events, he basically said bye and "he wasted his calories coaching me". So yeah, after one year of swimming for that man I was diagnosed with a more severe anxiety and a new diagnosis of depression. If you are looking to swim here I beg you no. NSU is a fantastic school and I'm sad to leave it but I honestly don't think I could put up with Kaden anymore than I already have."

"A very old school mentality of coaching and does not care about mental health at all. When I would talk about my mental health with him, he would just ask, "did you talk to your family?". I don't think he ever asked me once if I was ever okay. The communication from him was horrible & almost non-existent and most things fell to the GA to handle without any guidance. He also never swam in college, so knows nothing about the grind of being a college athlete and what it fully entails. He will sweet talk you during your visit, but really pay attention to how many swimmers have quit or transferred and what the current athletes have to say. "
