"Throughout my running career with Ryan Purrington, he has always been kind, welcoming, and very dedicated to my journey in athletics and academics. He cares about every single player on his team. He makes sure to check in with players and makes sure that his office is always open so he can communicate with his athletes. He is very knowledgeable as the Head Coach of Colby-Sawyer's Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field. I will say that Coach Purrington is one of the most dedicated coaches that I have ever had. He really cares about his team, and he emphasizes team culture and improvement within all of his athletes, instead of focusing solely on winning and treating athletes differently based off their times or performances. He values everyone on the team, and he highlights what attributes they bring to the team itself. I am very grateful to have Coach Purrington as a coach and that he has dedicated his time and effort to making me the best athlete and version of myself throughout my running career at Colby-Sawyer College. "Ryan is a terrible coach. He is extremely invasive, disorganized, terrible with communication, and only cares about his coaching career and not his athletes. He single handedly contributed to 27 athletes quitting, all of his recruits didn’t last a season, and took a national athlete from 1:50 in the 800 to a 2:00 800. He is extremely manipulative to his athletes, and ruined the program at this school. "
