"I played for Coach Jason his first season at umass. After reading these reviews and taking time to think to myself, I wanted to give an honest review. To start, coach is overall a good guy. He helps us with what we need outside the field but on the field is just not what the school needs. Coach would often show up to practice late. I could tell the team lost interest in him after the first couple times it happened. Practices overall were pretty bad, and we worked on nothing that translated to the game at all. Often showing up to games right on time, having horrible communication, and not taking it serious, how is he still there is my question. Coach along with the assistants have not built a program that is successful at all. 2-3 legit wins in 2 years is utterly unreal. Everyone on our roster that I played with absolutely despised playing for him and how can you want to win for a guy that says he cares about you but doesn’t show it. I hope the best for umass and I hope they go along and fire this guy and allow someone to step in that knows the game! Jason should not be there and I know many people that would love to build that program. As always, Roll Sairs!"
"Besides the coach himself writing his own positive reviews, everyone I have talked to that has played under Jason has hated it. This has caused many kids to quit the team and many kids like myself to not come back to the team. Jason is a coach where once you get on the bad side you will not see the field again. I came in as a freshman and he had many unkept promises. Practices we had were horrible, coaches would show up late and about everyone on the team was fed up with the coaching staff. Hopefully Umass will step away from him and give the players that are going there the next couple years a chance to win and a chance to compete."
"Jason is a caring guy but a hard guy to play for. Fitness is all that matters and if you can run you can play. I played for Coach Jason in 2019-2020. The team lacks passion while playing for him, nobody wants to play for him at all. The culture around his teams are uneasy and he is not a locker room favorite. Hopefully Coach is doing well but I have nothing to say positive about his coaching in any way except he was a caring guy. Practices are wastes of time, staff gets there late, shows up under the influence some times, and they are not well thought out practices. Hopefully it has changed but after seeing records from the current Umass team I see no improvement and I bet the current team feels the same way as I did with my old teammates. "
"Coach Jason helped me believe in myself when I didn't have self belief. He showed me that people care about me and helped me to pursue my goals as a soccer player. He was always fair and communicated with me clearly exactly what I needed to do. There was never any question as to whether coach would be there for me. He was always looking for ways to help us be better and to win. I think of coach when I come up against hard challenges and ask myself if there is anything I can do differently. I loved playing for Coach Jason. He was always there for me no matter what. "
