"Dane was the absolute best. He really does care for each girl and wants everyone to succeed. Is easy to talk to about things and supports when you are struggling. Honestly the funniest and most caring coach you will ever have if you take the time to talk to him and actually try at practice and go fast. "
"He was knowledgeable with swimming but was a terrible coach and person. I don’t know how he still has a job… He would verbally abuse a former assistant coach that put her into tears occasionally, when one of his swimmers went to him in need of help he would say he is there for you but never followed through with his word, and he is now dating the 3rd former female athlete at JMU he used to previously COACH. He is far from professional. The only reason all of that is looked upon is because he has winning seasons. And it’s really a shame. JMU is a great place with a great girls team and that’s why people commit. Not because of Dane. If I could go back and time and change my commitment, I would as he ruined my college experience."
