"Even at CIU Coach Haver showed lack of respect. She would never allow an athlete to be injured and starved most athletes on away games. She would talk about players to other players. She cut girls that didn’t want to conform to her. Coach Haver claims to be a well rounded Christian but at the end of the day who knows how many athletes she lead to seek Mental Health professionals. I hope she takes a long look in the mirror and realize that what she has done throughout the years has hurt young women to this day. "

"I think it's very important for anybody who considers hiring Amber for a coaching job know her history as a Division 1 volleyball coach. I was witness to multiple players who experienced verbal harassment from Amber. The girls at the UNC Asheville volleyball program were witness to many different coaching styles over many years from multiple states, clubs, and programs. As evidenced by them, Amber was a very unique individual. When athletes asked for specific feedback on position training for in-game criticism, Coach Haver's response was frequently, "You need to figure it out." Perhaps this stems from her lack of any formal volleyball experience or position training but generally, it displayed a lack of coaching. Coach Haver displayed mental and emotional abuse to players in the UNCA program by subjecting them to inappropriate comments about overweight players on other teams, on their own team, underweight players on their own team, shaming their bodies in the locker room when changing, laughing at the size of their bodies in the locker room while changing and staring at players who were undressed in the locker room. All of these allegations were reported to the UNCA Athletic Director, the Chancellor, and an NCAA Investigator prior to Coach Haver's departure from the program in 2023. Some players had such a rough experience with Coach Haver that mental health professionals had to be involved and medical attention had to be provided to certain players outside of her knowledge for fear of retribution. In addition to the abuse players received from Coach Haver, she was also investigated by the NCAA for violations pre-season. Coach Haver knew how to skirt the rules, and she disguised practice pre-season as a volleyball camp program for the US Deaf Volleyball Association. She had her team running practice drills alongside the guise of a camp for this non-profit. She provided no housing and no food for the players who were asked to come to the university months ahead of their typical pre-season date. Girls were living on couches, cots, and air mattresses and forced to figure it out as it related to food and rest. Ultimately, UNCA made the right decision to let her go. In my opinion, I hope the facts of what Amber Haver did at UNC Asheville also make it back to the USA Deaf Volleyball Association. It's a smear on their program to have her involved and frankly, disgusting that a non-profit would keep such a vile person a part of their youth program. Amber Haver should not be allowed to coach volleyball ever again and is lucky if she skirts past legal consequences for her actions while at the program. "

"It is imperative that anyone considering hiring this coach is made aware of the mental and emotional abuse experienced by athletes on the UNC-Asheville volleyball team this year under Coach Haver. These athletes endured inappropriate comments about their weight and experienced body shaming. Coach Haver also made misogynistic and condescending remarks implying the coaches exist to groom women for stereotypical domestic roles, stating “We are here to grow young women so they can handle the pressure of being a stay-at-home mom and having to take kids to soccer practice on top of PTA meetings.” When a player reported an injury, they were met with statements such as, 'If you cannot push through the pain, you are not mentally strong enough to be a D1 athlete.' Additionally, there were instances where Coach Haver exhibited indifference and eye-rolling when confronted with overuse injuries, dismissing requests from the athletic trainer to reduce jumping during practice. This consistent pattern of behavior reflects a concerning lack of consideration for the well-being of the athletes. "
