Abe Almost Punched The Starting Point Guard One Time And Has Misappropriated Funds From Donors Multiple Times. I’m Shocked He Hasn’t Gotten Fired.

Poor Communication Intense Knows The Game
"Playing for Abe is like if a middle school coach was given a college coach job. The guy is way out of depth at the d3 level. Abe Woldeslassie’s strategy to win is summed up as recruit the best players in the conferences and let them try to win games, there is no offense. This strategy has proven unsuccessful as even with the best player in the country Macalester still cannot manage to win games. Abe has no clue what he is doing and only understands basketball at it’s most basic levels and as such the macalester basketball team operates at a extremely basic level. "

Poor Communication Intense Knows The Game
"Our young men, on the team are working hard, made it to finals! This Coach almost cost the guys the semi-final game, yelling at the top of his lungs instructing the players during the game on exactly where to be on the court - distracting , even for the fans . Our young men are going to win - despite this Coach's disrespect of their abilities. If this Coach wasn't distracting and disrespectful to the players, his behavior would be comical. Also, where is the leadership at the school ? Terrible for the Macalester Student /Fans to start, even before the game begins, cheering "Augsburg sucks." Really, if they suck, why wasn't the semi-final planned at Macalester instead of Augsburg. Maybe the problem is that this Coach is disrespectful to the players because the culture of the College as a whole is disrespectful? "

"After a successful and enjoyable high school basketball career, I have given up a sport I love, because of Coach Woldeslassie. Coach Woldeslassie is so out of touch with most of his players. Ask any senior, if they started over ,would play for Coach Woldeslassie, I did and the answer was flat out NO, why would I stay around if the seniors represent that all four years have been just as awful. "Terrible Coach, lies to players, micromanages, treats players and parents as if they are unaware and tries to take credit for doing things for others. He doesn't listen to assistant coaches. Extremely insecure has a book of his accomplishments that he makes players and parents sit in his office as he goes on and on about who he knows and all the great things about him in his little book."

"Not a seasoned Coach. Acts like he still wants to be on the court, runs up and down the side line. Pulls players over to the sideline way to much, to tell them what to do - let the players play. This Coach actually "plays" on the starters team, at times during practice. Displays a lack of experience in motivating young men. Doesn't look out for his team as a whole, only a few players and is inconsistent in holding players responsible. Criticizes players in public, gives up on players. During COVID left a player out to fend for himself after testing positive. "
