"Very intelligent coach but he cannot make game time adjustments. All adjustments had to come at halftime or in practice the next day after a game had been played. He also does not know how to adequately communicate with female athletes. He does a good job of preparing his captains to be team leaders and he is very reliable to help out with off the court things like academics and job interviews. "

Intense Passionate About Coaching Old School Mentality Understanding Cares About Academics
"Overall, I would describe him as a very caring person who genuinely wants the best for others in day-to-day interactions. He shows concern for the people around him and has many positive qualities as a person. When it comes to basketball, however, there are areas where he could continue to grow as a coach. At times, his passion and intensity can come across strongly, especially through comments made during practices or while on the bench. Some remarks about players or situations on the court may be perceived as negative and could impact player confidence. He also appears to have a strong commitment to his planned approach for the game, which can sometimes make it challenging to adjust in the moment. There may be opportunities to be more flexible by recognizing when players’ performances, energy levels, or game situations suggest that changes should be made—not solely based on predetermined playing time. With continued focus on communication, adaptability, and balancing expectations with encouragement, he has the potential to positively influence players while maintaining the competitiveness and structure he values."

"Knowledgeable of the game, not great at making adjustments during the game. Worked hard, but wasn’t able to motivate or get through to players "

"Overall is a good coach, really cares about the team and its success. Sometimes however, there is a lack of knowledge in game situations and how to handle them. Otherwise, works to put the team first and wants the best."

"This coach cares about his athletes at a first glance but can be super passive aggressive and dishonest as time goes on. Smart remarks can be made by him during practice and many things get muttered under his breath. Outside of practice we had many team dinners hosted by him and his wife which were a lot of fun and brought the team closer. I think some female athletes have a harder time connecting with him as a coach because he coached men for many years and didn’t adjust to coaching women. "

"The coach creates a positive atmosphere and genuinely cares about maintaining strong relationships within the team. One area for growth could be providing more individualized support to help all players feel equally valued and developed. Encouraging players to challenge themselves while continuing to foster a supportive environment could further enhance both individual growth and overall team performance."

"He cares a lot about all of the players as people and our academics and future careers. He is a decent coach in practice but struggles sometimes with in game decisions especially when we have to switch up the initial game plan. But he does put in a lot of time with players outside of practice such as individual meetings, small group workouts and individual workouts."
