"Having a 26 year old alumni coach a college women soccer team was a mistake. The mentally abusive coaching started with the previous coach who was "asked to leave" the school so Kirstie took over. Since the time Kirstie was assistant coach (around 2019) until now February 2023, there have been 26 players who have left the Meredith Soccer team due to mental health issues, injuries, and lack of support. That number is utterly shocking and the athletic director refuses to change or fire anyone. Recruiting isn't the problem, it's being able to sustain and maintain a team with discipline and respect, two things Kristie King is horrible at. This program is a complete joke in the way it is run from the athletic staff to the coaches. She pushes players past beyond limits to injury then accuses them of not taking care of themselves. With the team dwindling down in numbers, its now average for the Meredith soccer team to have 13 players per game. Off days she would still make the players jog and then expect them to practice the other 4 days of the week as well as play 90 min + games. This left the players mentally and physically drained from being yelled at and neglected in support. A more recent example was after an away game bus situation where she told the girls they couldn't get something on the menu because "they didn't work hard enough". This was after a game they played with 9 players and a field player as goalie. After the girls voiced their concerns about having their effort measured with food, Kirstie blew up and screamed at the girls about how she's working hard and we should be more grateful for her. Off-season is just as unproductive as the girls are only supposed to attend 2 lifts a week and 1 conditioning session. Currently, only 4 girls show up to that and what's left of the team is MIA. Kirstie is immature and is not capable of coaching a college soccer team. The team culture is horrific and are not a family whatsoever. She and the athletic director and destroying the future of this program and theirs no state title championship in sight until they both leave. "
