"I had Allen as my coach during his first year as a head diving coach at a Division I university. Unfortunately I was a senior so I only got to spend one year with him as a head coach, however, he was a graduate assistant at KU during my previous 3 years at KU. He transitioned to his new role with ease and was very receptive to feedback from returners on the team as well as the head swim coach. Allen is very easy to talk to and is very great to communicate with when it comes to academics, life, stress, practice, etc. My favorite part about being on the swim and dive team at KU is how much both the coaches and captains on the team prioritized a positive team culture. Knowing that my teammates were there for each other during a tough practice or even just throughout life was so memorable and important to me! Allen was on the Chinese National Team for diving so it is safe to say that he knows so much about the sport and is passionate for making his athletes better divers.
