"Letting your players yell at other players on the field seems about right with you. Great look for you and your program. When something goes wrong… yell at your teammate…chances are they might get more opportunities to make plays…. but hey why not embarrass them and then wonder why they maybe don’t make the next play…. Really encouraging, really good mental health right there. Great LEADERSHIP BRAD. Cant imagine what kind of teacher you were. "

"Kind of bizarre we had the season we had this year. We had double the amount of coaches and added a significant amount of talent. We literally won more games last year with 17 players. I don’t get it and the conference was worse. Real head scratcher. Great job DU. You really care about your student athletes. "

"Ronda only listened to player complaints if it fit her narrative. Now there’s player complaints and she looks the other way. This is how it’s going be for as long as her friend is coaching here so honestly I would urge recruits to really look into this program because Brad and staff have free reign to do whatever they want to do and this has already negatively affected many young ladies on the team. This could be you next. The comments on here are funny yet sadly true. It won’t be a laughing matter when your child isn’t listened to and is excluded. The conference has gotten significantly worse and we have a talented roster. The mismanagement this season has been abundant and favoritism has taken center stage. Don’t get me started on pinch hitting for your better hitters when any analytics would point to the player with significantly higher numbers- instead this coach opts for players who have significantly less of a chance to get a hit. The amount of games lost by poor coaching by Brad and the pitching coach is mind blowing. It truly has been INSANE. It’s pretty clear Brad doesn’t care and is more concerned about making money for his rec ball tournaments and using his position as a “d2” coach to make more money for himself. I don’t understand why leadership wasn’t more concerned about looking for a coach that could put more time and energy into these girls and a coach that wasn't so consumed about making a profit for themselves. I don’t understand any of the decisions by this poorly run school, other than this coach was Ronda’s friend so automatic bid. I thought there could be a lot of value having Ronda’s friend in charge because it’s also abundantly clear way way more is being done for the program but the shitty coaching has overwhelmed that completely. Besides all of this mess, you’ll also have to deal with the fact he is very, very odd and likes to throw childish temper tantrums with the umpires. It’s all so so strange. "

"Everyone knows the GLIAC was down this year compared to the past few seasons, and DU still barely clinched the last spot in the tournament. This is not surprising seeing the way this coaching staff has utilized their talented roster. It’s the true definition of INSANITY, doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. The reviews are entertaining but when it comes down to it there are young ladies’ college futures at stake here. Stay as far away from this place as you can, you’ll be glad you did."

"If you want to be a better softball player and care about development this is not the coach or school for you. You will significantly get worse with these coaches bc they have no idea how to coach at this level. You also will experience favoritism and a mentality of equal playing time which honestly doesn’t belong at this level of play. The on field decision making has been so brutal it’s lost us games. I urge anyone who wants to play here to just watch a couple games before considering. You will see firsthand an arrogant, argumentative coach that shuffles to his coaching box then just stands there after 3 outs in disgust. Like, respectfully, get off the field. It’s been very disappointing and not what I expected with such an all around talented team. "

Poor Communication Disorganized Direct Old School Mentality
"Got handed a completely rebuilt program and has fumbled it because he’s a subpar travel ball director. Maybe instead of constantly going on vacation you should have actually worked with your team. Ronda knew this hire was going to happen years ago from my understanding. They just waited until the program was completely rebuilt to try to act like he did something. Quite the opposite actually. The on field decision making, costly low softball IQ and the mentality of playing everyone really shot this team in the foot. This is division 2 softball and instead of playing to WIN games he plays politics to try and appease people. When in reality if you played the best lineup consistently and didn’t make such terrible softball decisions this team would easily be in the upper half of the conference. This conference is significantly worse than previous seasons. I can’t comprehend how this team got swept by FSU 4 times. Jake the snake is sure happy this coaching staff took over because he couldn’t seem to beat the last one so he reverted to lying and stealing their pitcher. I have evidence that he also helped with the ousting of the last staff. All I wanted was my daughter to have a good experience playing and didn’t expect the politics and arrogance of this coach. I encourage anyone to watch a game and watch how Brad caches at third base. Terrible attitude and terrible body language. He is more motivated to argue calls than he is he to actually coach the game. I guess overall the most surprising aspect of this program now is all the lying and preaching of how Brad has made everything better. It’s like a political campaign of justification. Why is that the main focus? We have a very good, talented roster and the athletic department is more interested in putting the spotlight on Brad like he’s a hero. When in reality they should be putting the spotlight on the players. I believe they did the same thing last year with Ronda. I remember reading an article about how they surpassed wins from the previous season and the article made it seem like Ronda was the reason. What is actually wrong with this athletic department. Truthfully. From leadership to sports information. I’m starting to believe something is really mentally wrong with these people. There’s a reason why alums don’t come back and there’s a reason why so many people speak negatively about this school and program. I wish the hiring committee actually would have taken their time as I know many talented coaches applied for this position- even a guy who had won multiple championships and had multiple regional appearances at the division 2 level - he wasn’t even considered because it was already set in stone years prior by Ronda that Brad would get this job. Ronda seems to pretty hands off now though. Interesting how that all works. Not sure why she’s not criticizing what’s happening on the field. It’s been a year of p**s poor coaching all around and the rehiring of the pitching coach is also notably a big disaster. You have one of the best pitchers in the conference riding the bench because you have a pitching coach that doesn’t know what he’s doing. He caters to his certain favorites and everyone else is thrown to the wolves. Again, this entire experience has been like a poor, unstructured travel ball team. My daughters high school coach wouldn’t let his team leave the dugout in between doubleheaders so they would focus together as a team to win the next game. Brad has let our team scatter everywhere. It’s just not what we expected a division 2 experience would be and honestly I don’t know why I’m even shocked because we have coaches that have never coached division 2 softball so they simply are just providing their low level softball experiences so in reality Davenport leadership should be to blame. Such a disappointing coaching experience for us. I’ve heard a lot of negative comments about Brad when he was at the NAIA level but didn’t think much of it. Now I’m seeing and experiencing it first hand. He’s not a coach you want your daughter to play for. No growth or development is occurring here. Just politics, bad food pictures and a campaign to paint a picture that just isn’t truthful. Such a shame. I believe it’s time for DU leadership to be let go. I believe the entire athletic department will benefit from those changes. I wouldn’t have wasted my money on travel ball fees and traveling if I knew my daughter was coming to play for a rec ball coach at DU. It’s infuriating. "

"I thought we were getting a winning coach that was sooooooo good. They had a better year last year with 17 kids on the team. This coaching staff is garbage. Absolutely terrible coaching decisions throughout the entire year. I guess this is what you get when you hire a retired math teacher as a d2 head coach. Like wake up people. The roster is loaded with first team all state talent and has the biggest pitching staff in the conference that isn’t used right at all. What an epic failure from the hiring committee. Just bc the dude knows ronda and alumni he’s the right choice?? Come to a game and watch the dude coach. It’s laughable. Let’s intentionally walk to hitters to load the bases for a GRAND SLAM. Straight idiotic softball IQ. It’s so bizarre to me people like this get jobs based on who they know. Even his last job was because they let him volunteer ages ago with no coaching history. All of Davenport leadership needs to be FIRED. "

"Puts an All American SS at 1B then he puts our best player the 3B at 1B completely asinine coaching when our team has 4 1Bs to begin with. No consistency at all. Lucky a couple have stepped up big to make up for horrid coaching. What’s going on in this program is insane. Helps a lot when the SID is on staff and actually does her job well. Atleast they have that going for them. My favorite is when the umpire tells him what he doesn’t want to hear and he stands and stares at them on the field delaying the game?? "The same 2 pitchers throw all the innings. The favoritism is insane on this team. Starts younger players with limited experiences because they give him attention. The conference level of play is way down and there’s a lot of talent on the roster. I just don’t understand his decision making, softball IQ and knowledge of the game. Pretty clear people are playing out of position and he’s more interested in posting post game meals than being competitive on the softball field. Sucking up is the norm if you want innings, the Dads definitely got the memo "

"This guy has the furthest thing from a winning mentality. Coach needs to get his team scoring more than 1 run in a game against strong teams. Not counting the teams who didn’t have a hit in 8 games that they almost lost too, but the power teams. Teams hit, now hit back stop leaving runners on, put as much effort as you do trying to plan your next Instagram worthy meal, and win some games. The best defense is a good offense. "

"We won more games last year during spring break with a smaller roster and we really didn’t even get to have a productive fall. Now we have a more talented roster and this clown doesn’t know how to write a line up. This team is ran like a slow pitch, rec ball, beer league. The best players don’t play. If you hit .097 chances are you’ll be put in to pinch hit in situations where we need to score. It’s all so laughable. On top of that the dude is a straight up weirdo. I would have ran through a wall last year for the team. He is the least motivating coach I’ve ever had and by far the most self righteous but hey atleast we get more expensive meals now so priorities. "

"Running the program like a travel ball organization. No standards what so ever. Players eat with their parents in between games and roam all over the place. Players miss practice and still play. Players constantly partying and drinking. Players that suck up the most get the most playing time. It’s wild this is what Division 2 is… my daughter had harder coaches in middle school. How he plays players makes zero sense, his substitutions make zero sense. This program was on a better track the year before then the AD stepped in and made it worse. The conference this year is significantly worse than previous years and the team is set up to be one of the best teams. It’s sad coaches like this exist. In it for the wrong reasons and additional pay check to grow his trash business. These girls deserve a heck of a lot more. You shouldn’t be able to say you’re injured and miss practice and then start. There’s so many more things I can say and it’s beyond frustrating to have to hear, watch and deal with. Maybe hire a coach that knows the game and doesn’t treat D2 like an elementary school team. Maybe hire a coach who isn’t arrogant and actually has manners. It’s bizarre this is the role model my daughter has to deal with. This terrible behavior has rubbed off as players now visibly get upset by umpires on the field. It’s all around terrible sportsmanship and a bad look for everyone. "
