"It was a shame Dan was only at SMU for a short period of time. I believe that he helped uplift the team, especially during challenging times with changes all around. Dan was someone that I could trust, someone that provided meaningful feedback, and someone who helped drive a team culture to somewhere special. Unfortunately, once Dan left the program this culture began to plummet, suggesting he made a drastic change for the betterment of the program and athletes around him. Before races, Dan would always be there to provide motivation, excitement, and dull down nerves.
