"I will say that Erica definitely knows the game of lacrosse and how to win. That's about all I can say that's nice. She will kiss up during recruiting and be sooo nice and lie to your face (and your parents' faces). Then you commit and the actual ice queen that she really is emerges. Lots of mind games and toxic behavior. Only cares about winning and only nice to her stars. Sets the tone for a real mean girls culture. Girls quit every year and this year even one of her star players left. She is terrible, and just a very weird, person. If Erica wasn't at Yale, which attracts girls because it's such a big name, I'm sure she wouldn't be able to keep attracting and keeping players. "
"It's classic for Erica to gaslight her own players and parents! Calling them toxic because they call her out for being horrible is classic Erica. To say Erica cares about her players, or that she cares about anyone or anything other than her winning record, is a joke. She is just not a nice person. Yes Yale is doing great this year and yes Yale is winning, nobody can deny that. But plenty of players and parents can deny that Erica is a kind person or that she cares about young women. She cares about herself and she cares about winning and that's about all. If you are not making her look good you are nothing to her and that can change in a second. She is cruel."
"Knows the game of lacrosse so knows what to do to win but at the expense of building a healthy team (mentally and physically). Not nice to anyone who doesn't start. Either you are one of her stars or you're not. And you'll know it pretty soon. She's very cold, even to the point of being strange and making both players and parents uncomfortable. It is widely understood that she is not liked by her own players, their parents and within the greater lacrosse community."
"Plays head games with players, most especially anyone she doesn't play (and basically she doesn't play anyone but her starters even if we're easily winning). Uses the rest of us as dummy players for her favorites without making us feel like we matter too. Lies during the recruiting process, making promises she doesn't keep and playing really cruel head games. Was horrible to a teammate who got injured, no support whatsoever, and she had been one of her favorite starters. We also see that she's starting to recruit without caring about the team chemistry, taking more and more mean, entitled girls. Clearly doing some club owners favors. I like Yale and love my teammates, but I really don't like some of the incoming recruits, and most of us can't stand Erica. If you like Yale, you should apply. If you want to have a good lax experience, go play somewhere else."
"If your daughter is being recruited by Erica Bamford please ask any of the players on the team if she has had a positive impact on them in any way. You will be lucky if any of them could think of one thing to say. Only pays attention to her starting players but even when one of her starting players was seriously injured she never called or supported her in any way and was only worried about who would replace her and what would happen to their chances of winning. Horrible and odd person to have in charge of your daughter for 4 years. Be warned!"
"Just a terrible person. When she arrived we were excited and optimistic but soon realized Erica's true character (or lack thereof). She plays favorites, doesn't communicate directly or honestly and wants to win at all costs. Winning might sound great, but not the way she coaches and clearly Yale hasn't won an Ivy championship since she's gotten there. It was so bad, almost all the seniors quit her first year! That should be ample proof something is wrong with her. She also plays crazy games when recruiting.Be warned!"
"I am a parent of a former player- key facts about Erica Bamford- 1) she is a narcissist 2) her main plot is to manipulate her players, ultimate puppet master! 3) evil ugly person 4) views her team in a pyramid form , if you in her eyes are on the bottom you are not WORTHY! 5) Plays head games and doesn't care about the mental health of her players.
Stay away!! Call email Instagram other players! Find out what is the real truth about this TOXIC program!"
