"As the family of a former player, our experience with the program left us deeply disappointed. Winning games is one thing. Developing young men, building character, communicating with integrity, and treating players with respect is what makes a true coach.
Parents and students evaluating any college baseball program should look beyond rankings, records, and social media posts. Talk to former players. Ask about the culture inside the clubhouse, how coaches communicate, how adversity is handled, and whether players leave the program better than they arrived.
The best coaches are remembered not just for wins, but for the impact they have on the lives of their players. In our opinion, that is the true measure of coaching. SEU coach Gabe Grinder should not be called a coach. "
