"I am writing this as a parent who had a trauma bonding experience with all the parents because of this coach. He tortured the players. He crossed boundaries, he was allergic to any sort of team bonding that wasn't lacrosse focused. He undermined his players. He tried to pit them against each other. He is not bright. This matters as a coach. You need to have some level of intelligence to coach the game. He's impossible to talk to --zero social skills. He doesn't understand female athletes at all. he has been at the school for three years. Each year the outgoing class is asked to help the ones still left in the abuse. Yet the concerns are swept under the rug. President Weinman and Tim Murray need to be held to account. It's an absolute joke that the team is a part of Morgan's Message which is about athlete mental health. what a joke when the school doesn't back it up for its own athletes. They need to put their money where their mouth is.Don't sponsor morgan's message and ignore your own athletes!! Insanity. Many of us were approached by the underclassmen parents and BEGGEDto please help them get this guy out. All the younger parents and players are terrified to voice their concerns because this dude is retaliatory and the athletic director and compliance officer can't be trusted to keep confidences. What a disaster!!!! NCAA needs to do a better job at protecting their athletes and be able to lodge complaints with no fear of retaliation!!! There are also parents who see what seems to be unsavory obsessions with certain players that it almost seems he has a romantic crush on them. It goes beyond favoritism. I watched him torture his starters, his captains, his benchwarmers. At all levels he tortured the players. Many of the parents who have left are in the lacrosse world as club coaches or in the Long Island lacrosse rich area and everyone tells people DO NOT GO TO MARIST WITH KEITH. STAY AWAY. Biggest regret is not encouraging the athlete to transfer. One positive is that the girls the team are great girls and the team itself has a good bonding culture in spite of the coach. TERRIBLE. PS he also drives away his assistant coaches. One Skylar has stayed but she plays both sides. She has her own back and rarely the girls which my guess is survival. So it's hard to blame her. PPSS. he tried to cancel senior day festivities, ceremonies, because that evidently is why the team loses Couldn't be his coaching... This guy is a zero. If could have given him zero stars I would."

"I have lived breathed and eaten lacrosse my entire life. This coach made me hate the game. And it's not just me....every single athlete at one point or another has made that claim. It's a battle to keep your love of the game. How you come in as a freshman is how you'll leave after four years. You will improve zero aspects of your game. It's important to know that this feedback comes from all players whether you start and play a lot or Sit on the bench. Every coach should have the goal of getting the most out of every player. He is demotivating. you have to fight through his constant mind bend to get through the season. What is most upsetting is that the athletic director is literally in his back pocket. It's sick. He is just as bad and has to go. When you have three years of teams going in and begging the athletic director to listen and he just ignores the players there's an issue.Also I will say that the underclassmen beg the upperclassmen every year to help them get a new coach. Every single player. Keith is the type who will see this review and call in each player and put them on the spot and ask them if this is true. Of course for survival the players will say no.But that is the kind of coach he is..literally allergic to self-reflection. Hello,maybe if every player can't stand you, thinks you can't coach, and wants you to be gone, maybe you need to self-reflect. And don't expect him to be able to win game. If you're tied on a rare occasion, he'll call the stupidest play to someone who can't pick up a ground ball. Again to be clear, every single player feels this from the. "favorites," to the starters, to the bench warmers.Literally no one is happy! He is the worst. Tim Murray,if you are finally paying attention, fire this guy!!!!!!!!!! GET RID OF HIM before he destroys more young women and their love of the game."

"Coach Keith is the worst coach I have had in my entire career playing sports. On every single coaching measure he is terrible. This is not an exaggeration. He doesn't understand the women's game ( he tries to play a men's offense). He is not supportive. He tries his best to turn players against each other (thankfully, the team is very well-bonded so none of us fall for it). He had a question on the questionnaire that read "tell me who on the team you don't like ore get along with" and he indicated you can't say no one! He would try to get teammates to rat each other out. He tries to get in the player's heads. He is not supportive. He purposely plays head games. He blames ridiculous things on losses instead of looking at his own terrible coaching. Like for example, the midfielders aren't allowed to cut! Makes zero sense. No one, and I mean no one on the team likes him as a coach. Everyone tolerates him for survival. For three years, the players have tried to get him to get fired. The athletic director doesn't care at all about the players (that's another story). When you have three full teams - and I mean 100% agreement, and every single player from the starters to benchwarmers- saying a coach needs to go, the university has an obligation to pay attention. But yet they ignore the player please because this guy is Marist royalty (just because he may have been a good athlete doesn't make him a good coach) The guy has no business being near young women. He's also inappropriate (walking into locker rooms when girls are changing, yelling at a player for going to target to get tampons and then insisting she needs to disclose that to him, fat shaming players, etc). He's controlling beyond what is reasonable for a sports team. He also has no regard at all for school--like actually zero regard. It's division 1, we all expect to have the sport come first. He doesn't even think we should be taking classes. This guy needs to go and everyone from the president of the university to the athletic director should hang their heads in shame for allowing him to stay for three years."

"Knowledge gets you nowhere if you have no communication skills to back it up (and honestly I think most of these reviews are over inflating his knowledge). Coaching is a people job and he is just not a people person. My grandma could coach a team to more wins and she's never touched a lacrosse stick. Marist is amazing; he is most definitely not."

"Where to begin… this guy is awful. Kind of knows lacrosse but knows nothing about his players, so he cannot create plays that play to anyone’s strengths. Can’t coach a close game for the life of him. Can barely coach a game that isn’t close either. Does not know how to motivate a team at all. Might know a little bit about being a men’s lacrosse player, but has no coaching abilities. Leadership, communication, and motivation are non-existent. He cannot connect with players on a personal level… he even struggles to keep eye contact. Harps on non-issues while the team has years of losing records - and blames the loses on these non-issues despite the fact that he cannot coach to win a game. For example, blames losses on things such as; girls on the sideline not wearing puffer jackets, talking about school work on the bus, too much time in the sun, and drinking soda. Makes players feel very uncomfortable, has female players 1 on 1 in his office with the door closed. Calls girls on the team “big,” and makes consistent comments on what they eat. Blames issues with certain players on their parents’ influence, but can’t create good relationships with parents to save his life. Tells players about his private family issues, i.e., personal trauma... things that should not be relayed to players. He will call and text players at unreasonable hours and expects a response, but when players text him about important information they are left on read without clear communication. On multiple occasions he’s walked into our locker room without notice, seeing girls in the middle of changing. There was an instance where he sent a butt-dial type drunk email to a recruit. Another time that he failed to follow through on a meet-up with a commit and the girl decommitted as a result. He is the worst!"

"Should not be a head coach. Administration probably hired because he was an alumni who was an athlete but is definitely not coach material. He does not motivate and I would go as far as saying he tries the opposite. He has knowledge but no execution. He is very unorganized. He also would tell the players that there is no hope for them and belittle them. He picks his favorites and that’s it. You can’t not change his mind even if you are playing better than the favorites. He almost wants to get the player to quit. He makes you feel bad. And at the end of the day he has good players but can never get the win. The record speaks for itself. Terrible leadership. "
