"This sums up everything that is Coach Kelly…
She yelled at the sideline of players who have barely seen the field all season (if at all) when we lost the SSC championship this week. She said we weren’t supportive enough. Of course the loss had nothing to do with the large number of turnovers, losing the draw, forcing shots that shouldn’t have been taken, etc…. It was the sidelines fault. This isn’t the first time Coach Kelly has blamed the sideline for a loss. The players on this team truly do support each other and get along. We cheer on our teammates and hope for success for all of us. Playing for Coach Kelly these past few years has really taken a toll on many players mental health. Coach Kelly has gotten worse with the pressure of 2 consecutive national championship wins. You never know what you will be dealing with from Coach Kelly on the daily (truly bipolar) and there are a lot of mind games played. This is an overall theme in her past reviews and completely true. She plays favorites and once you are no longer on that list, it doesn’t matter how hard you practice or improve. The roster is so large now that not everyone travels. When she recruited me she made a point of stating that all players traveled to away games because she thought that was fair since all players have a role and contribute during practices. That only occurred my freshmen year and it’s embarrassing when only a handful of players don’t get to travel to the away games with the rest of the team. Non-motivating for sure! I really don’t know how these college coaches that continue to preach that mental health matters continue to get away with being the main reason a player has mental health issues. Winning team only because they attract top players (and an active transfer portal) due to popularity of the school and it’s Florida location. It’s such a shame they have such a terrible head coach! I think it’s time for a change but hard to justify with leadership at the university when they are having winning seasons. Karma will prevail!"
"This coach is a mental mindf*ck. She is delusional and probably bipolar. Each day we are trying to gauge what her mental state is so we can prepare for practice. She often comes into practice calling us her “friends” and then on the flip of a switch is screaming and harping on random point that doesn’t really have to do with anything but it’s what she’s fixated on that day, tells us we don’t buy in, and using profanity that is extreme and offensive. She plays favorites and will continue to play them even when they don’t produce. She will not play people simply because she doesn’t like them. She has a list and if you are on it you are screwed. You are either crying in her office because it is so extremely uncomfortable or she is gossiping with you, especially about other players. Overall I will say she is very organized and good at communicating through emails about practice times and stuff like that, but she does not know the game of lacrosse and the program being good is not because of Coach. "
"Terrible. Many many players leave her team because of her. She is bipolar and is very unfair. Is known for playing the wrogn players. Doesn't have a good game plan and always runs one play. It is not like playing lacrosse on her team. "
"This coach is the exact opposite of all of the categories. She is unfair, lacks knowledge of the game, de-motivational, a bully, everything you DON'T want in a coach. She will lose a game playing her favorites leaving the skilled players on the bench. Stay away from this coach! She pretends to value fitness but starts out of shape girls."
