"Do not come to Michigan rowing. Mark is probably the most unqualified for this coaching position. He does not care about the team as a whole concerning the athletes, he just cares about who will kiss up to him the most. He is hypocritical and does not have a method at all to his coaching, how he makes lineups, or how he has the team train. He has wasted a lot of potential and put athletes through mental agony, making the sport someone once loved become a chore, toxic, and not fun. He doesn’t rely on numbers or seat race results; instead he will choose someone slower essentially (2 of my teammates won their seat races and then were sent home after Big Tens). It is devastating and frustrating to witness and personally experience the failure of a team he has created due to his incompetencies. He has let down the team and many talented athletes in so many heartbreaking ways that is unacceptable. Compliance doesn’t care either. No one cares about women’s rowing. They are hypocritical. They don’t want to change anything or listen to our feedback. Very poor leadership. Toxic culture. Do not come here. You will be very unhappy. Go somewhere else. Trust. "
