"I along with many other teammates continue to have PTSD/ nightmares about cua lacrosse culture long after leaving. I have witnessed comments about players weights, character digs, ridicule until tears are reached. We had a teammate experience a serious medical event during sprints, she yelled for us to keep running around our unconscious teammate or we would be cut. There was no trainer initially present. She also would have us practice without trainers present, stating the nursing majors on the team would be able to assist if needed. When I was originally introduced to the team, we were told by upperclassmen that if you spent more time with her in her office, dishing on the inner dynamics of the team, she would favor you more/take it easy on you/ you might play more. She did not play lacrosse herself, has only coached. I would describe a team culture of fear or trauma bonding. End of the year Evals: several players would leave honest evaluations about playing experience, the athletics department had a system where Meghan was the reviewer of all women sports evals, but did not have a system for her own team evaluations to be independently reviewed, leaving her unchecked. I assume because of her winning record that her methods are not investigated further. She recruits heavy class size because so many people quit, I would argue mainly due to mental health reasons as a direct result of her coaching methods. My class alone had 4-5 people leave the lacrosse program due to poor treatment. The university does not follow up as to why. After graduation she’ll hound (texts , having her call, players and assistant coaches call) you for donations to the program. I had to get in touch with an assistant coach to ask for them to stop spamming my phone. "

"In my opinion, Coach Mcdonough is a great recruiter. One a player, you see the real coach. Head games, limited communication, and body comments are common. She has unhealthy skills and methods. The coaching staff has made comments about other team’s sexual orientation and physical appearances. The coaches are toxic."
