"Does not care whatsoever about player or team development. Now as of recently him being the head coach for a few years, he only cares for the players that he recruited from Arizona and California, which is roughly more than half of the entire roster, as he was born in the west coast and considering those players his “guys” and his “favorites”. On the development team (a.k.a. JV Team) at Midland, he could care less about most of the players on the team and cares so little about the the JV team itself that we would be lucky to get one team practice a week during the spring semester. He is very disorganized as a coach towards the JV team as there have been many times on days the team will travel for an away game that he won’t post the travel roster until 30 minutes before the bus is supposed to leave instead of sending one out the night before. Due to his obvious favoritism and lack of leadership as a coach, he holds no players accountable for actions off the field and has ultimately created a toxic environment on the baseball. Every year there have been a handful of times that players of his have gotten DUIs during the season that he was aware of but would not do any sort of punishment nor sit the player out for a few games. There have been many instances where he has allowed players that are ineligible to play due to having a low GPA receive some playing time on both the varsity and JV side and getting away with it. During JV games at home, him and his assistants will spend most of their time directed towards the varsity players attending the game where he will allow them to come into the dugout causing a distraction to the JV team and making the dugout more clustered and doing no coaching during JV home games. I would HIGHLY recommend not playing for this coach and his program and if you are getting recruited by him I suggest you consider your options carefully."
