Poor Communication Intense Old School Mentality Direct Knows The Game
"I’m not sure how she even stays employed. All she does is yell and scream and cuss at everyone. She tries to get you by smiling and being great during recruiting time. Once the first day hits, it’s nothing but judgmental drama. I watched her scream and yelled at her players, her coaches, and umpires. I would love to see the record of how many softball players have quit softball or transferred to another school. I’m not sure how no red flags have been raised. She lies to your face, she talks about you behind your back. Sometimes she’ll even talk about you right in front of your face. If you want your daughter to have a great experience at college and in softball, this is not the school for her. It also speaks for Indiana Tech itself, stay away."

Poor Communication Intense Old School Mentality Direct Knows The Game
"This Coach is one of the fake people I’ve ever met. She put on a great show when meeting parent are trying to get you to come to the school. She is a joke, just like her attitude on mental health. She picks and chooses who to like and who to go after. She belittles her players, makes a mockery of them well never giving them a chance to defend themselves. She talks about other players to their teammates. She’s best friends with the athletic Director so good luck reporting her. She doesn’t care about the players at all. She doesn’t even take the time to get to know them. If you’re not believing in her unconventional health remedies, lifting weights and sucking up with her then she basically doesn’t want you. Don’t talk about modern medicine or your actual life around her. And dare you say anything about mental health. She is a child! I would not recommend anyone playing for her. Do your homework first. Parents, make sure you do your research as well because she puts on a great show. "

"If you play for her you will see how sad of a person she is! She loves to downgrade players to make her feel powerful! Who cares about the records! She even had people try to sue her! First meeting you will have with her she will say mental health is not real! She is a JOKE"

"While making it to opening rounds of NAIA national championships is great, the players achieved this in spite of her rather than because of her. The absolutely atrocious and degrading treatment directed to players after each and every loss is something she needs to do serious introspection about and fix immediately. The great season does not offset that. If the only thing that can be said about her coaching is that she had a good season, something is missing. These athletes love softball and deserve so much more. If you are already committed or returning, protect your mental health, you’re in a for a ride. "

Poor Communication Intense Old School Mentality Direct Knows The Game
"My experience at this school with Coach Zimny felt like a nightmare I didn’t know was a nightmare until it was over. She’s a great person to talk to about everyday things. Knows about the game really well, has her quirks like everyone else. When I got recruited, she was nice, approachable, smiley… I’m telling you to throw that logic out and RUN. I’ll start out with team lifts. No other coach or very few other coaches actually attend team lifts. She is telling the person who went to school and got their degree for fitness and strength training how to make the team lift. On heavy days we could do up to 5 sets of 8 reps at max weight. Or pointless exercises that she added in because our GOAT of a lifting coach wanted to make her happy. But I gained more muscle lifting on my own than in the mornings. Next I’ll talk about conditioning. Any rumors that a girl almost died from her ‘conditioning test’ she loves to do, are true. We run more than some track athletes. The most explosive training we have ever done is squats. We are running for endurance that doesn’t even matter by season because we only would run in 1st semester and January. Next I’ll talk about the team and how she would handle drama. Team drama is so terrible, another reason to book it. If you don’t eat, sleep, breathe softball you will be picked on. She openly acknowledges that her team culture is atrocious and makes it worse by her actions. Regardless, the way she handles it is gathering us up into a group and singling out people, but not telling us what they did. It’s like a shame ritual, It’s so unprofessional and childish because no one actually knows what’s happening other than getting cussed at and being told we are immature. Next thing we know we are running again. Coaches have favorites, if you are an underclassman and make a mistake, you’re gonna be pulled from the game. But if you’re a senior or have ungodly stats, you’re like the second coming of Christ. Certain coaches have girls phone numbers and are talking to them casually and going out to dinner with them as if they aren’t their players. It’s so odd and unprofessional. I kept telling myself this is how softball is, and that I should get used to it. I kept talking with friends, transfers, etc… to see their experiences, and nowhere has it even come close. One coach will ruin the game for you. Good luck recruits. I hope this finds you in time. "

Poor Communication Intense Old School Mentality Direct Knows The Game
"I would strongly encourage anyone considering this program to take a very close look before committing. My experience with Coach Zimny was not a positive one. It felt like she formed opinions based on what certain players said rather than taking the time to actually get to know each athlete. There was little opportunity for open, honest communication, and attempts to have conversations were often shut down or avoided. There were also situations where concerns about players were discussed with players, which created an environment where it was difficult to trust leadership. From my perspective, mental health was not taken seriously, which is a major concern in a college athletic program. While Coach Zimny presents well to parents and recruits, the day-to-day reality felt very different. Her coaching style often involved anger, cussing, and yelling. Although she clearly understands the game and has strong strategic knowledge, the way she communicates and treats players overshadows those strengths. The environment did not feel supportive or motivating. Instead, it often felt judgmental and discouraging, which made it difficult to perform at your best or feel valued as a player. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that prospective athletes speak to current and former players and do thorough research before making a decision."

"Coach Zimny is just flat out not a good coach to play for. Point-Blank was one of the worst coaches i have ever played for. She only cares about upper class men, and is weirdly obsessed with players weight. she claims that mental health is a myth and expects everyone’s mental health to be 100% every day. overall, stay away from this program, or anywhere coach zimny goes."

"Coach Zimney is a far cry from a softball coach. She is a control freak that thinks she needs to be the center of attention. She will be littles players into thinking they are the problem when it is her. She will never admit she made a bad call or play decision, but instead blame the players for not trying hard enough. She has lost countless good players to her attitude and tantrums she throws. She is not a leader, she is a poor coach, and players should stay away. She has very little knowledge of the game of softball. Stephanie is a horrible person and Indiana Tech should come to realize that she needs to go to save what little of a program they have. "
