"As a parent, I would never question whether or not Coach Sasso cared about the kids. That being said, it was not apparent that player development was at the forefront of the program. Often times practices were at times that only one Caoch was available, therefore, not a lot of instruction was given throughout the year. Additionally, it did not seem like the facilities that the school has in place for the program were utilized properly to help the girls continue to improve and work on their skills. Wins and losses aside, it should be expected that the coaching and instruction would be at a higher level than what the girls received in high school. "

"Coach Sasso spends so much time and money on his players it’s insane. Coach does have moments like all coaches where he messes up AS ALL COACHES DO with play calls, pitch call etc. he’s human. I stand by Coach Sasso being the best coach to put AMC softball back on track. You see many teams having loosing records but also it’s on the school not having state of the art facilities and education as well that does not draw people to having AMC as their first top pick. "

"This guy is a used car salesman who encourages his players to bully their teammates. Do not trust a word that comes out of his mouth, he will tell you anything you want to hear to get a commitment to the school. The school is in serious financial trouble to the point where their accreditation is under review for lack of finances. Of course he wants warm bodies to commit. He bends the rules and talks smack about players to other player’s ,this breaks one or more NCAA anti bullying polices. He says he has an open door policy yet never addresses concerns or respond to players concerns. He encourages a toxic culture on the team. Thinks he is “coach of the year” yet plays the weakest teams and still has difficulty winning games. His players do not trust him. He shares personal/ confidential information and emails from players WITH the other players, yet will not address the concerns with the person who approached him. Complete lack of professionalism and intelligence. Many players had to leave campus to address mental health issues that were caused my this man and his chosen “hit women” who get the green light from him to mistreat their teammates. He appointed the worst offender captain for the upcoming season.- this is confirmed by a former assistant coach. Stay very far away from this smoozer of a coach and this toxic group of girls who cannot stand each other because it is encouraged from the coach. It appears as if he enjoys this! It’s sick. Who knows? The college will probably lose the accreditation within the next year or two due to financial issues. If you are thinking of having your daughter play for this man or this school, I encourage you to rethink the choice and run not walk to a different school. Parents of current players have questioned his credibility and poor choices. There is talk of filing formal NCAA complaint against him. "

"AMC itself does not care about women’s sports, and even though this coach has a losing record and negative feedback, he remains the coach. The coach is disorganized and usually takes things out on the players. He doesn’t know much about the game of softball and strategy so it feels like you are playing at a lower level than any other team. He clearly has favorites and it is obvious. The best way to secure a starting spot is by being a butt kisser which is extremely frustrating after he pretty much tells everyone they have a fair chance at playing. He also puts everything on the captains, even though he should really be the one doing those things. He does not create a good team culture and honestly doesn’t care about the culture at all. This coach does have a lot of connections and cares about players getting a good education but also is not the best person to run to if you feel like you are struggling. All in all, if you are okay with non-instructional coaching, backhanded remarks, and losing a lot, then AMC is the place for you. "

"Horrible coach. Does not respond when spoken to. Gives no feedback. If you ask a question, she does not respond. If you ask if she can say something to the team, she says yes, then does not. Poor communication on the bench, off ice, in practice, and completely poor communication overall. Makes up things that are not true. Unable to run a practice or explain drills. Does not understand anything about the game. Screws over people who should play. Does not understand chemistry and separates players who work well together. Lightly taps or whispers or does not tell which players are going out for the next shift. Runs away when spoken to. "
