"Enough is enough! She treats her players with no respect and goes out of her way to bully them. It's almost like treating them worse and inhumane gives her a rush. She does everything she can to make the girls feel bad about themselves, destroying their self-worth so they crave her validation. Her validation is nonexistent and if she could replace everyone on the team, she would.
College tennis is about the overall experience you leave on players, how is this woman helping young women prepare for their future career by tearing them down?
I wouldn't wish any young player to join this team. The verbal, mental, and emotional abuse will always be present in this woman's program.

"He destroyed team culture and tradition. Was unwilling to work with the rowers, and was an intense control freak. He claimed to want to improve the overall team culture, but very clearly chose favorites and completely neglected the rest of the team. The entire team was terrified of disappointing him while also not wanting to talk to him because he made himself completely inaccessible. He was also very creepy to some of our freshman women and had a very bad vibe. Overall, he was a destructive presence on the team, and left us as soon as something better came along for him. We were never anything more than career stepping stone for him. Also, he doesn't believe in evolution. "
"Picked favorites and ignored the rest of the team. Would often blow up in anger and stop coaching entirely. The team culture during his time was incredibly poor and adversarial until he abruptly left with no notice. Does not particularly care for his athletes, just himself and his ego."

The athletes were told Dan “left the program abruptly” and received no further details. Our HC, Chase Graham, has a proven track record of success and has continued to grow our team back into a perennial powerhouse.

"It was a shame Dan was only at SMU for a short period of time. I believe that he helped uplift the team, especially during challenging times with changes all around. Dan was someone that I could trust, someone that provided meaningful feedback, and someone who helped drive a team culture to somewhere special. Unfortunately, once Dan left the program this culture began to plummet, suggesting he made a drastic change for the betterment of the program and athletes around him. Before races, Dan would always be there to provide motivation, excitement, and dull down nerves. He had an exceptional read on the sport, as well as what it means for a team to be connected in order to do well. "
"Dan Schenk was a really popular coach during his short time at SMU. His positivity and leadership helped lift spirits during a period of turmoil. It’s a shame SMU can’t retain their top rowing coaches.

"Can't ever get a read on him. One day he's hot, one day he's cold. Spent time with our program then up and left kind of out of nowhere. Never truly put his full effort in and seemed to care less about athlete's beyond their physical success. Cursed a lot and didn't give coaching when rowers made obvious mistakes. "

"Kim's been out from injury for a bit, but overall she is an amazing improvement and what the SMU Rowing team needed. She's intense and expects a lot, but she usually knows what she's doing and has big plans for the team. The girls like her and her training program. Her assistant coaches are competent and useful, but don't like advice much at all."
