"Jamie is now a softball head coach at widener university in Chester, Pa. I have played for many amazing coaches and travel teams over the years, and I do not recommend this coach whatsoever, at first when I was figuring out where I wanted to commit she filled my head with all the stuff I wanted to hear so that I would commit there. As soon as season started she became a completely different person not keeping any of the promises she made to me and others. As time went on I realized she almost never keeps her word constantly making false promises. Practices are always extremely unorganized, drills are almost never explained thoroughly and no one ever understands why we doing them, there is hardly any coaching at all from her end, only yelling at us during games. When we have morning practice she makes it extremely difficult to leave on time for class causing many players to be late to them. Practices and timing of things are always spread out/last minute making it even more difficult to balance softball and studying/schoolwork. She picks favorites like crazy and they do absolutely no wrong in her eyes and she changes them each season, It does not matter how many times you prove yourself. She preaches having a good team culture but will blame singular players for losses and wins. Not to mention she does everything in her power to start drama between the girls on the team and even went as far to kick girls off the team over he said she said drama, causing the girls parents to have to get lawyers invovled to get her back on the team. She gossips and whispers about players to the assistant coaches in front of us, sometimes players are able to hear who she is speaking about. During games she will switch the line up when we finally start scoring pulling people off the bench with no warning to warm up, also without notifying umpires causing outs to be called against us. Blames pitchers for errors in the field, unless the error is made by somebody who is being favorited at that time. She constantly heckles the umpires during games to the point they will start to purposefully make bad calls against us. A girl on the other team at one of our games told her to shut up under her breath while she was yelling at umpires, which is not right, but Jamie continued to cause a whole scene about it DURING the game completely shifting everyone’s focus and telling the coach to suspend the girl who said it. The list could go on.. It’s very clear that she uses this position to make herself feel like she has power and she knows absolutely nothing about coaching, and creates an EXTREMELY toxic environment for players. If you care about your sanity and future, DO NOT COME HERE. I am positive majority of the team would agree with this, and I don’t want any other athletes to have to endure this program I hope me sharing my experience helps your recruiting journey."
