"Creates a stale environment that causes players' growth to plateau. Continuously brought in and played 5th years over well-deserving players who had been on the team for years. Does not know how to develop a team and relies on the transfer portal. He only conducts the same 5 drills at practice and rarely scrimmages, making every day/season repetitive. Will not be upfront or honest and repeatedly strung players along for a season and even years until it was too late to transfer. Has obvious favorites and will only be respectful to players if he needs them. Does not have extensive knowledge on the game and will often answer questions with "it's situational" - most of our team successes came from the leadership of captains and upperclassmen on the field. Was very catfishing during recruiting and made a lot of promises he could not keep. Players on the team are fantastic and made my time here enjoyable and worth staying for."

"Had parents come in to his office every week that would complain about playing time then they would instantly start/ get more playing time. Did not care about injuries would assume you were lying about being injured/ would still try to start people who were injured depending on the injury. Would act like he cared about players but when he would ask a question about you he wouldn’t even listen to your response. He would act cool with you around other people but as soon as you had a 1 on 1 meeting with him he would tear your entire life apart whether it was about soccer, school, you as a person, your health/ mental health etc. Very obvious who is favorites on the team are he would have random personal meeting with them during the week or before/after practice. The drills he does are very repetitive, some drills were good but others he would make up and they didn’t make a lot of sense and he would spend 1-1.5 hours on the same drill at practice. The assistant coaches don’t really have a day at all they just go with what steve says, sometimes assistant coaches and head coach would often contradict each other. The team was very cliquey which had a lot to do with the head coach as well. He would very much separate the starters and non starters and it would create a lot of drama. Overall, he was a completely different person from meeting him for a visit to actually committing and going there. "
