Knowledgeable Knows The Game Develops Team Beyond The Field Disorganized Fitness Is Important
"Roser INHERITED a strong program that consistently went to post-season. The team went to post season in 2019, 2020 cancelled due to Covid, 2021, 2022. In her 2022 debut season as coach, Roser had 14 players. 3 pitchers, 2 catchers. that team was already firmly established and no one had to fight for anything based on numbers alone. One pitcher was All-American, and the shortstop was a 2023 senior All- American. The team Roser inherited in 2022 and the post season appearances were built by the previous coaches and handed to her. What has happened since? No post season appearances. Five assistants come and gone. One bailed mid-season, one fired during fall ball. Three others quit or fired at end of season. Insane player turnover. 2024, 10 players (all her recruits) mostly quit or were cut after one season. Several leaving mid-season due to the awful coaching environment. She brought in 16 new players the following year for a roster of 29. 8 pitchers on roster. Roster of 29 because she needs those numbers to catch bull pen for that many pitchers. Then disposes of players at end of season to make room for the next round of JUCO transfers and Freshman. Cornering kids you don't like in the dugout and flicking them in the neck is not "tough" coaching. Its unprofessional and crosses boundaries. If that happened in "corporate America" from a boss, what do you think would happen. Allowing favorites to break team rules and not follow through with consequences or are immune from consequences, that is not accountability and anyone saying she holds players accountable is a joke. Never sitting while leading the conference in strike outs is not "earn your way on the field." Its favoritism for her recruits. Players speak up and are retaliated against so other players won't speak up or think its ok because the humiliating, abusive behavior is not happening to them. There is plenty of documentation and the programs reputation is no longer strong. It now not only reflects poorly on Roser but on her confidant, the AD and top to bottom, starting with the President."

"I played under Coach Roser during my senior year at Rollins College. Before Coach Roser, the culture at Rollins was toxic and unstable. Coach Roser was hired in October (only 3 months before the start of season) with 14 players on the roster--7 players being graduating seniors. Everyone started from scratch, including her; you had to earn your spot regardless of your name or your previous stats. In those short three months, Coach Roser prepared our team for an incredible season--a season in which we made it to the 2022 Regional Tournament. Before Coach Roser, I had decided against using my extra two years of eligibility (Covid) due to the horrid environment that the previous coach had created; however, as I told Coach Roser in my exit meeting at the end of season, Roser created and established an environment and culture that I was sad to be leaving. Had I been physically able to continue playing the sport I loved, I would have in a heartbeat because I wanted to play for her (Roser). In my 22 years of both playing and coaching softball, I have never met someone more willing to get their hands dirty and do the hard work with their players (some practices she left sweating more than we were). I can say with utmost sincerity that Coach Roser is as good as they come. I believe that in order to know how far you can go, you need to be pushed beyond your limits. Coach Roser saw our potential and pushed us to get there, especially when we didn't believe we could get there ourselves. Coach Roser will push you, and there will be hard days, but everything she does is for the team. If you can't handle accountability and hard work, Rollins is not the place for you, nor is Coach Roser the coach for you. Coach Roser is caring and approachable, and she understands the values of her players. I had a family emergency in March of my senior year. Without hesitating, Coach Roser told me to go home and be with my family. I declined, but it meant everything to me that she encouraged me to spend time with family. Many college coaches out there would not have suggested this, but she did. Coach Roser values family, integrity, and grit. I graduated almost 4 years ago and I still have a great relationship with Roser. She is someone I look up to, someone I can count on especially now as a Head Coach myself. Her dedication to me and my success didn't stop after I graduated, it grew. She strives to see her athletes succeed both on and off the field. If I could have changed one thing about my college experience, it would have been for Roser to be my coach my entire collegiate career. "

"Here's the deal - college sports aren't for everyone. Is Coach Roser tough? Yea. Does she hold kids accountable? Absolutely, But guess what - real life is tough, corporate America is tough (especially for women), bosses are tough. She's getting our kids ready for LIFE, not just softball. She sets the expectations for the program and for players on DAY ONE every year with the idea that every year is a new opportunity for each kid to work hard every day to earn their way on the field. I don't think it could be more fair than that. All you can want for your kid is a fair shot to earn their spot on the field. I'm proud to have sent my kid to a school where a coach prepares them for REAL life and not a fairytale, because life after college is hard and people will have high expectations and guess what, that's okay! These kids will be equipped to handle it because of coaches like Coach Roser. "

Knowledgeable Knows The Game Develops Team Beyond The Field Disorganized Fitness Is Important
"Future college athletes! It’s a RED FLAG when 75% of an incoming class doesn’t return to the team the following year including 4 JUCO players who quit even before the end of their first Spring season. Numerous trainers and assistant coaches have come and gone the past 3 years. Despite being a D2 school where academics and athletics should be “balanced”, 5 hour weekday practices were not uncommon. She gets away with it because the field is a mile off campus so no one is monitoring the excessive hours. It’s a good thing our player didn’t tell us about the neck flicking until after she left the team. As a former Psychology major, Roser knows the power of words and she uses hers to demean and belittle her team of really hard-working athletes that don’t deserve it. Girls that loved the game and sacrificed so much in the 10 years prior to being recruited, transferred out or quit forever after only 8 months under Roser. After so many complaints, there’s word she’s eased up recently but it’s disturbing to know that is how she chose to be a leader. Why do I need to choose at least 1-star rating for “Caring”, “Motivational” and “Honest” to submit the review? "

" She was softball alum who played under the former head coach so he gave her the head coach job right after he fired the previous coaches. They have been buddies for years. Was mentioned in a previous review that 75% of a recruiting class did not return. That same year so many girls went to a counselor about eroding mental health and manipulation by Roser. Nothing was done and the treatment continued. Last year several girls were caught smoking pot at an overnight team event and Roser punished entire team by pulling out of the Gulf Shores Invitational. The real reason was kept from administration and some of the girls who were caught told their parents it was because of too many injuries. The roster was and is 29. Plenty of players who could have played. She refuses to take responsibility for the team culture. Its always someone else's fault. Usually assistant coaches get the blame. Probably why she is on her sixth assistant in five years. Majority of administration is well aware of the years of documented abuses (people saying they were flicked in the neck, humiliated, injuries disregarded, lied to)."

"Everyone on team is allowed to date each other because she says she did it when she was a player so..... She does not care it ruins team cohesion practice and dugout. If anyone brings up the toxicity it creates, which many do, they face negativity. The environment is over sexualized and even assistant coaches have been involved with being too close to players. Head coach and volunteer assistant know and hide it from AD or the AD knows and covers for the coach. They only care about covering for themselves instead of doing the right thing."

"MISERABLE does not begin to cover the sentiment that not only my daughter but every athlete in her entire recruitment class experienced while under Roser-LeFevers. None remained after Freshman year. Wost part is my daughter had many options and as a result of the abuse, name calling, public humiliation and complete disregard for injuriy, Roser LE-Fevers took my daughter from a happy, enthusuastic passionate athelete with a lifelong love and passion for softball to someone w ZERO self esteem and a broken spirit who no longer cares to ever see a diamind again. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN NEAR THIS PERSON !"

"As soon as she decides she no longer likes you she will make it known to you with absolutely spiteful behavior. She will give you a good flick in the neck in the back of the dugout or punish you until you are sick. It's on purpose to humiliate and break you in to quitting and she can replace you with the next shiny object. That never works out either. All of her personal anger is taken out on the non-favorites. Sad that it's allowed to continue at a very expensive private college that prides itself on empathy, inclusion. "

"The program is awful for your mental health. the swearing at you, public humiliating, fear of making an error and if you bring mental health issues to coach or administration, she tells you to just deal with it and not be so weak. Got rid of a coach for getting to close to players and fired another because a player complained of unwanted advances. Title nine complaint waiting to happen. Every assistant coach except the volunteer assistant has come and gone. Quit or fired. Players told to keep the firings on the down low so she does not get in trouble with administration. Drug use by favorites hidden from administration. She is insanely manipulative and lies. She was a good player when in college but that does not make someone a good coach. The environment is really a free for all and a giant mess. I guess when you are buddies with the Athletic Director you can get away with whatever you want to save face. "

"Where do I even begin? So many reasons to avoid this program. After a season of never playing the field or hitting your money is taken away or cut so you are unable to afford to return. Practices going over allowed hours and returning to campus well after dining halls closed. If you don't have a vehicle you go without or must rely on Uber Eats out of your own pocket even though you are paying for a very expensive necessary meal plan for dorm living. She blames losses on individuals by singling them out by name in front of the team. For people in the stands, the lady who is yelling at the umpires and opposing fans is Head coach's wife. She has to be babysat by the administrator on duty because of Un sportsmanship complaints by other teams. Dugout is toxic as players are allowed to date. Then they breakup, fight, other players feeling like they have to pick sides, constant tension. Several players walk away from the program mid-season every year. Favorite players get away with team violations while others are punished worse for lesser violations. Athletic administration is aware as plenty of players have gone to them with concerns. Know what you are getting in to."

"During recruitment you are told how much you are needed at the program because the people currently playing your position are not good. She brings in huge rosters and then majority of Freshman who were told how needed they were get no playing time and then several Freshman get cut after every season. Now you are left with no stats, no options, and an end to your softball dreams. Your only value to her is being a bull pen catcher to the huge number of pitchers. Her favorites are not held accountable. Team is constantly fighting with each other, mostly because everyone on the team dates each other. Credits are too hard to transfer to other schools so if not cut you feel trapped and wishing you would have gone somewhere else from the start."

"Unprofessional, talks poorly about players to other players during practices, changes team code of conduct to protect favorites, disrespect of players to such a significant level leading to player turnover and toxic environment, bullies players causing public humiliation, retaliatory towards anyone who voices concerns, can't keep assistant coaches. EVERY year they quit or are fired. One left mid-season as she could not stand the environment. What you are told during recruitment is opposite of what the environment is actually like. Even talked poorly to a recruit about existing players. "
