Disorganized Poor Communication
"From my experience with this coach where he is an assistant coach at the University of the Ozarks, he does not care for the development of the players and only cares for the players that he can build personal relationships with where he considers themselves as “his guys”. This coach makes it very obvious about the select players he cares for where he would personally buy his favorite players snacks and drinks and invites them to the clubhouse hours before practice or games to have a little “get together” and would not do something like that for players he doesn’t really care for. On multiple occasions in the Fall and Spring semesters, this coach will spend almost his entire time standing with one of the first baseman that he considers him as one of “his guys” during batting practice near the cage and on first base whether for practice or before games while holding a fungo bat in his hands ultimately showing that he has no care for most of the players to develop nor does he have a care to help infielders take ground balls to get warmed up and prepared. From my experience in the Fall and Spring semesters, he would privately approach and reprimand players that he heard from other players, mainly his select favorites that suck up to him, speaking out against his coaching style and even stuff unrelated to baseball and more on him as a person or his lifestyle. He is also a terrible motivator as his solution for the team to get motivated is not by hearing it from him or the head coach but instead searching for motivational speeches everyday before practices and games which does not give the team any sort of drive to get better or go out and win games. He has also been a result of the poor team culture that has happened at Ozarks where there is no form of leadership whatsoever and due to the result of favoritism happening on his end and the head coaches end, it has resulted in a very selfish environment where almost every player only cares about their individual performance in the game instead of if the team won or lost. If you are a player and if ever get recruited by this coach, carefully consider your options with him and how he goes about recruiting you."

"Doesn't care about development of players or team development. Players are not evaluated on performance but instead solely on if your the coach's "guy". The coach has implemented a system where the JV squad only practices 3 days a week at the most and even then it's sketchy. The coach has publicly reprimanded players for speaking about him outside of practice time when it was passed to him that another coach heard players discussing team related material. The coach rarely, if ever, interacts with players to provide development suggestions or encouragement. If you're a player considering playing or a parent with a son considering playing for him I'd suggest that you consider your options carefully and be wary of the sales pitch."
