"Doesn't care about development of players or team development. Players are not evaluated on performance but instead solely on if your the coach's "guy". The coach has implemented a system where the JV squad only practices 3 days a week at the most and even then it's sketchy. The coach has publicly reprimanded players for speaking about him outside of practice time when it was passed to him that another coach heard players discussing team related material. The coach rarely, if ever, interacts with players to provide development suggestions or encouragement. If you're a player considering playing or a parent with a son considering playing for him I'd suggest that you consider your options carefully and be wary of the sales pitch."

"I do not say this lightly, but he is simply the worst coach I’ve ever experienced. He lacks knowledge, leadership, is not caring to players unless you are his 1 favorite and even then he will use you til your broken and does not care about players health whatsoever. Do not be fooled by his first impressions, I have yet to meet a player that actually likes this man, they are just too scared to speak up for themselves. He has Napoleon syndrome 100%. Theirs is so many awful instances I could tell about this man, but if you are wanting to enjoy your college softball experience do not go here. There are plenty of good coaches out there, Jeff Zomer will never be capable of being a good coach.
He is extremely un encouraging, and quite literally throws tantrums like a 5 year old. If you are up to bat and look to your coach at 3rd for a little pep and encouragement/swing correction, don’t expect him to help you or encourage, rather his arms crossed giving you a look of sheer disgust, and then yelling at you how unacceptable your Performance is even if you hit a double. He does not know what team unity means. He is more than willing to put his players health and safety on the line if it means it win for his ego. I don’t know if a girl on the team who was mentally in a healthy place while playing on his team. People have tried to get them fired and I’m truly not sure why it is he still there because it has been many people coming forward as of late, but when he finds out people come forward he takes it out on other players when he finds out they associated with the people to get him fired and makes their lives miserable. I mean this with all sincerity if you were looking for a sign, whether you should make the decision of going here to be coached by Jeff Zomer or not, let this be your sign to NOT.
