"I did not have a good experience with Drew. He was the athletic director at BU while I was a female athlete at the school. It seemed his only priority was men's hockey. In my experience, my team brought issues with our coaching staff directly to him and through process of end of the year anonymous reviews. There was a lot of effort to cover up these issues and "save face" but little effort to fix the problems for the well-being of the student athletes. In our situation, the allegations and issues were serious problems and the players had to not only create the action but follow through with it the whole way. It felt like there was no one we could trust in higher positions (such as an athletic director) making the situation worse. When we as a team finally got some productive action, the athletic department sent out an email to alumni about the departure of an abusive coach and left out the abuse. They not only left out the abuse, but listed the coach's accolades and accomplishments, wished them well, and painted them to be a good coach. This not only harmed the players that endured the abuse and broke trust between athletes and the athletic department but opened the door for the abuse to continue further. Again, the players had to take action themselves to insure our voices were heard and our story was told by going to news outlets. This is the last thing an athlete wants to do on top of an already strenuous schedule and could have been avoided if Drew took the wellbeing of athletes (specifically female athletes) seriously. "
"Over four years there, including training three summers, he attended only two of our games while consistently showing up to and promoting the men’s games; he was rarely present on our campus, dismissed concerns and conflicts, and did nothing to support me or my team."
"He covered up sexual harassment in the women's soccer program for YEARS. Parents and players went to report various levels of abuse & he simply didn't care. This happened across many different sports. I truly don't know how he is still in a position of power. His job is to protect and keep athletes safe. He has failed to do that on so many levels. I love Boston University but for this man to still be kept around especially after the Alex Cooper documentary is a disgrace and major F U to all female athletes. "
