"I’d say he cares about his position on the team. He deals with the outfield and some aspects of the technology we use for hitting. His outfielding style conflicted with ours of our head coach but I think both have come an agreement of a standard to which they should hold the outfield to. He’s developed into this role well as he’s been able to adapt drills that would cause for more engagement and more of what the players would want to see. He’s very protectant of his outfield which is something I respected. The hitting technology aspect I question his knowledge of but I can tell he tries to learn how one of the tools we use works to the best of his ability.
With all of that being said, I never liked approaching him because I truly felt his vibe of not caring for me too much (personally). He has developed close knit and wittier relationships to those he works with often/those who would help bring out his more comfortable side to speak. Basically if you’re not an outgoing outfielder, he’s really not going to develop a relationship with you all that much and defend you against our head coach if you absolutely mess up in the outfield. I also feel like he needs a more outgoing and good conversationalist type person because he’s a bit awkward talking to at first. Not sure if it’s shyness or what but it’s fairly quick and to the point answers as if he doesn’t actually want to talk with you. He also tries to be motivational and I feel like I appreciate his efforts but not going to lie his analogies are a bit interesting and out there almost as if you have to say something completely random and out there to grab someone’s attention and then tell them the main point of the story. He does say them even in the darkest of games so that much I do appreciate because even if it wasn’t meant to be necessarily funny, I consider it to be a light-hearted motivational talk. "
"Knows the rules of the game, but is unable to actually teach the game. Does not engage in learning about progress of players in positions he does not know how to coach. Talks a good game during the recruiting process, but does not follow through. Belittled players, and played favorites. Allows assistant coach to belittle and bully players. Half of the players who were part of the 1st yr quit because they didn't want to play for him anymore (he will say it is because of injuries)."
