"This was the worst coach I have ever had. He was my coach at the University of Iowa and completely manipulated all of us. Didn’t believe in mental health, put a HOLE in the wall from being so aggressive kicking a door, and treated us like robots. You were never seen as a person, only an erg score. If you didn’t perform to his liking, you were shoved to the side and treated like gum on the bottom of his shoe. Doesn’t ever deserve to work with athletes- I also watched him treat his coaching staff horribly. Demeaned an assistant coach in front of all of her boat that she was coaching. Has a God complex. Turned all of the girls against one another for his own sake. Shitty person, shitty coach. "

His time at the University of Miami saw many Olympic champions quit the sport and suffer manipulative and cruel treatment. He can’t work with athletes, or other coaches.
