Poor Communication Disorganized Intense Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture
"I came to play at AAMU excited for this new chapter of my life and it hurts me to say that Brian Daley has turned this into my worst nightmare. As a player it is impossible to perform when your coach has no faith in you from the get go and when your walking on eggshells because you are absolutely terrified to do the wrong thing. Coach Daley told us at the beginning of the season that he wanted to develop us as people not just as players, but that was just a lie. when some people asked coach daley for extra reps or to help them with their specific needs, he simply said no. I was mocked and belittled by him daily. As someone who is supposed to be a leader and help guide us through this chapter of our lives, all he did was guide us into a mental instability hole. I have never felt this insecure and worthless in my entire life. I advise you to make the best decision for you...not just you as a player but you as a human , who deserves to be mentally healthy. "

Poor Communication Disorganized Intense Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture
"As a parent it is absolutely heartbreaking to watch my child's mental health decline because of ONE coach. I sent my daughter off to college hoping that she would be entering into a safe environment, but i sure was wrong. Brian Daley did nothing but degrade his players and made them question their worth on and off the field. No player should be treated the way that this man treated the group of girls at Alabama A&M. Telling players "I don't know how you got D1 offers", promising them playing time but not giving them the time of day during season, and talking crap about players to other members of the team. There is no justification for telling other players that their teammates would be getting cut at the end of the season DURING GAMES AND PRACTICE. His behavior is completely unacceptable. I am not the type of parent to allow my child to not take accountability for her actions, but in this situation, she and her teammates, did everything they could and they were still told they would never be enough. How can a player be mentally well after the turmoil he put them though. Please learn from my mistakes. Guide your children in a better direction. "

Poor Communication Disorganized Intense Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture
"AAMU Administrators -Shame on you! I have been hearing about the new coaching staff at AAMU softball and how they have been demoralizing the players on the team. This weekend it was apparent that they don't respect, understand or care about the culture of a HISTORICALLY BLACK College University or the student athletes who want to proudly represent AAMU. First, let me be clear on how I hope this message is received. I hope it opens the minds of the all white coaching staff who has been brought in to change the "culture" of AAMU softball. If the coaching staff took a job at AAMU for the betterment of this program and to uplift these young ladies by all means do so, however it you are at this HISTORICALLY BLACK College University with the intentions of changing history and what it represents to the students for which these institutions HAD to be established for, maybe you should consider coaching elsewhere. AAMU has a diverse team, which is very appealing, however when looking at the recent recruiting efforts of this new staff, we are seeing the elimination of girls of color. What is being shown to current players is that this coaching staff wants nothing to do with anyone who looks like them, may think like them or share the same values as them. Seeing this along with the verbal degradation has put some emotional stress on the young ladies on this team. AAMU has a host of talented players who are not playing to their full capability due to most of them playing under a different type of pressure that is illuminating from this coaching staff and the lack of support that is supposed to be given to them by the Athletic Mental Health Director. This weekend this team was told that they can no longer do the chants that are a staple in HISTORICALLY BLACK College Universities and predominate in the SWAC. These chants are rooted in our history. These chants are how we connect with one another and express who we are. To have a coach with obviously no understanding of our culture tell our girls to silence themselves and to refer to our expression of self as "low class" is in itself low class. I kid you not when I tell you those exact words came from the mouth of an AAMU coach when JSU were celebrating their hard-fought win in typical SWAC fashion. He stood there with his head high and chest out speaking to our girls, insulting their heritage as if he were showing them a better way. Previously, joy, laughter and chants could be heard coming from the dugouts of AAMU. This weekend they were barely cheering for one another when uplifting one another was needed most I say shame on AAMU Administrators for allowing this to happen. For allowing what should be a safe place for higher learning and personal growth for students of color to be turned into a place of shaming and disrespect. I hope this post sparks a much-needed conversation that will lead to a positive change. Unapologetically HBCU!"

"Coach Daley is not someone who should be trusted with an athletes college career. I was belittled and not valued as a human by this man every single day. He started the season at AAMU sweet talking all the players, but it was all a front. He claimed he was such a great coach and cared about us as players, but as the season progressed, his true colors showed. He has no respect for his players, didn’t care to develop his players skill, and didn't even try to get to know his players on a personal level. He is the kind of person that would tell you one thing to your face then act completely different. I wouldn't wish this college experience on my worst enemy. I highly recommend re-thinking putting your college career in this man’s hands. My mental health has been damaged. My love for the sport has been stripped. To add onto everything, his favoritism showed. His “favorites” were the ones spreading negativity, the ones bullying their teammates, and he decides to give them special treatment. That shows enough about his character and who he is as a person. He is a heartless, poor excuse of a man and a coach. All I can do is pray about the future of the AAMU softball program. Under the leadership of Brian Daley players are only going to be mentally abused and drained. "

"If you want your child to be mentally and verbal abused then allow them to play for Coach Daley at AAMU. The administration will dismiss your child’s claim because they’re extremely loyal to Coach Daley. Which fostered a climate of fear and intimidation. He doesn’t care about the player’s academic success either. He punished players for having classes during his desired practice time. He wanted players to change their majors to subjects with an easier curriculum. He requested all players to take the minimum number of hours. Which wasn’t feasible for those that had an academic scholarship to maintain. He broke the NCAA rules regarding study hall hours. There was absolutely no study hall for the Fall or Spring semester. If you are looking for your child to thrive academically and have a good mental health. DON’T play under Coach Daley. He only cares about winning not the whole player. "

Poor Communication Disorganized Intense Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture
"This past year at AAMU Coach Daley as well as the assistant Coach Becca Hewitt created an atmosphere that no athlete would want to be apart of. After the girls competed and worked hard to get THEIR wins Coach Becca told the girls that “it doesn’t matter if they lose from there on out, they had already won more games than last year.” Another instance, after a hard game, Coach Daley told the girls they were playing “bad f***ing softball” and continuously used the f word during his closing remarks after the game to the girls…. Is this how you would want your daughter talked to? Another instance, Coach Becca called one of the girls something extremely unacceptable to be an assistant coach at an HBCU, regardless if she tried to make it to be a joke or not, your a grown woman and you know what to say and what not to say. Finally to close this review, Coach Daley told one of the girls that she was “not a D1 player, and he has no idea how she got offers” ….. These are only a few of the things that these girls have went through this year. Confidence was shattered, development was not delivered, and mental health was declined without the help these female athletes needed. Please do your research on coaches."

"This coach had favoritism on the team and it showed only towards white people. He coaches at a HBCU and cut almost all the black people on the team and is bringing in all non-black people to the HBCU. He makes promises that he doesn’t keep, and is very disrespectful and doesn’t take accountability."

"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING!!! Do not even talk to this liar!! He and his staff are NOT good people. Assistant coach was a middle school ASSISTANT coach with his wife then since his daughter is in the team he and this sorry a*s human being hires him. Daughter plays here and now takes her bullying into her coaching career at AAMU as the new assistant coach. Assistant FEMALE coach addresses the girls as “ghetto (curse word)”. Parents and recruits STEER FAR AWAY FROM THIS GROUP. Only likes a certain look or type of player. "

"These players feelings are valid and are based off their experience playing for Coach Daley. Invalidating their feelings based on how your child’s experience was, is not something you should do. The players/parents that have commented did the exact thing, and gave a review based off their interactions and judgement. If you are going to defend an individual then make sure that a team does not have a list of evidence to back up all of the things that have been said. "

"Coach Daley is a poor excuse for a college coach! While at Alabama A&M he led my daughter to believe he was bringing her back to play for the 2025-2026 school Year, telling her he was gonna get her more scholarship money. LIE!!! She got cut from the team with NO EXPLANATION! Her mental health is at an all time low, he cusses the players and has no confidence in them! You do not want your daughter playing softball for this man!!"

"This coach is far from what the past reviews have to say about him. He does not believe in his players AT ALL! He degrades his players and says things that hurts the players confidence. My daughter has been told things that a person in a chain of demand SHOULD NOT say to their players at all. My daughter has told me everything that this coach has said to her teammates as well as herself and it is absolutely unacceptable! Whoever is in charge of hiring coaches at AAMU needs to reevaluate who they have hired to the softball coaching staff immediately. "

"Brian Daley is by far the worst coach my daughter has ever played for. He degrades his players and plays mind games with him. He has ruined my daughters mental health and made her lose her love for the game of softball. He lies about almost everything that comes out of his mouth. He does not tolerate feedback from his players and when they try to they get cussed at. I feel bad for any player that attends Alabama A&M University to play under his name and has to deal with the things he will put his player through."

"Coach Daley has been by far one of the best coaches I have had the pleasure playing for. He was extremely open and honest about the university and softball program, the culture that existed, and the vision for the future of the program. Coach Daley cares about his athletes as people first and athletes second and the culture he built and the team he created became a very large support system for myself when my mother became ill with cancer. Coach Daley along with the assistant coaching staff and my teammates always made me fell cared for being so far away from my own hometown and my appreciation to Daley for the culture he created and the opportunity he has given me is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Poor Communication Disorganized Intense Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture
"Coach Daley is one of the best coach I’ve had. He not only cares about you as a player but also as a person. I grew a lot with him being my coach. He knows what he talking about when it comes to softball. My swing came a long way because of him and I am so grateful to call him my coach. I know a lot of people that almost lost the love of the game but because of him and his coaching they grew that love back for it. He makes the game fun and brings back the passion for it. He’s made a big impact on my softball career and I will always remember him for it. "
