"She is a horrible coach with no true experience. She played a total of 10 minutes in her entire college career and somehow managed to get a coaching position. She lied about being a coach for a national championship team. She was a volunteer, closer to a water boy than a coach. She also coached literal children and then went straight to d2 college. The athletic administration failed by hiring her and failed the athletes by ignoring our pleads to change something. She never practices or teaches the team to play offense because she doesn’t believe in the girls and only wants to play defense. She has such a low field hockey IQ and is borderline incompetent in the sport. She also doesn’t care about the health of her athletes in any way. One time a girl sick with an eating disorder, Britney was aware of it, went to the ER and then was forced to play a game a few days later. She is a nasty and sad excuse for a coach. "
"I’ve had my fair share with coaches from club level to university level and I can’t say I have anything good to say about my experience with university coaches, especially this one. With that being said I had to step away from the sport that got me to where I am now, not because I wanted to but because the love for field hockey has been stripped out from under me. Although I'm not on the team anymore it is still in my heart to care about how this team/my roommates/friends are being treated. I can’t not help them do something about it. To say that these girls are miserable is an understatement, and nothing has been done to change the culture of this team that was absolutely brought on by the Coach. To hear about the carelessness this Coach has towards these girls is saddening. And not only do I hear about it from them but basically everywhere I go someone has something say about this program and their record. Which is my last point; these girls are not learning how to be better field hockey players due to the lack of knowledge this coach has, they seem to be better off coaching themselves. "
"0/10 do not recommend, unless you like to be mentally and physically destroyed. She is always yelling at us especially about our fitness and field hockey skills. She also yells at the refs which causes a very negative ambiance during games. If it doesn’t go the way she wants to she will start acting up. She also violates the contract rules, by telling the team personal things players told her in secret. She also doesn’t understand how field hockey works… I’m concerned for our metal health."
"This woman should have never been given the head coaching position in a d2 program as she has literally no head coaching experience. She is a very bad coach. She does not know how to coach and doesn’t even understand the sport. She ruined my athletic experience. She does not care about her players and regularly talks badly about them to each other. She violates player privacy and HIPPA. She is a very nasty and sad person. She lies through her teeth to everyone and can never take responsibility for what she says. She also cannot take responsibility for the shortcomings of the team, which are all her fault. She needs to stop coaching and stop traumatizing young adult women. "
"Brittney and she has ruined my love for the sport. She creates a toxic playing environment, the team is super close due to us all being trauma bonded. Every year the girls who join the team in the fall claim they were lied to in the recruiting process. Brittney claims she is all about positivity and positive reinforcement, but continues to tell the team we are out of shape and do not know how to play field hockey. Our running conditioning are always a test and timed to pass with unrealistic times that nobody passes. She will run us until we pee or throw up and thinks that is all due to us being out of shape. If you want to be on a team where you will be gaslighted and mentally abused and drained this is the team for you. She creates a schedule with at least 3 hours of field hockey related activities everyday and every semester tells girls they either can’t take a class or for them to ask their professors to change the time of class because it interferes with our practice schedule that she makes before we chose classes. The only good thing I have gained from coach Brittney is mental toughness which is something you need to be on this team, every single girl has at one point or another expressed their mental health struggling due to being on this team. "
"My experience with this coach is awful. She is a pathological liar and she says things and never goes through with them. she is super unorganized and she gaslights us all the time. She has violated many hippa rules and she has been mentally and physically and emotionally abusive. we have a great team culture and we all get along and she tries to turn us on each other. she has had no experience coaching other than a 12u team and she has had no experience with high school or college other than being the water girl for a team and didn’t get paid. We have had many problems and we have went to the Atheltic director multiple times and i’m worried that there is going to be a suicide on this team and we have told the athletic directors and still nothing has been done. Someone please help this team because we are all not okay. "
"This coach came to my school after my first year of college field hockey to replace my previous coach. From the get go every single person on my team was made to feel that we should be kissing the ground that she walked on because she "let us stay on the team" after becoming head coach. Time and time again she shows that you have no reason to trust her with any personal information she manages to get out of you in one on one meetings where she talks about anything and everything besides field hockey. She has broken HIPPA laws multiple times while talking about other athletes in concerns to current or past health and also violated the team contract that she makes all of us sign for multiple reasons. According to our team contract, she is not allowed to talk to any parent about playing time or anything about the athlete of the parent without the prior consent of the athlete and she has done this on multiple occasions. She is truly embarrassing to be coached by as she yells at players, grad assistant coaches, and also referees during games. She consistently swears at players during games and also after games where she purely acts on emotion instead of giving herself time to cool off. While you can imagine the atmosphere of the team while interacting with her is nothing but negative, we maintain an extremely positive environment within our team (I would assume because we are all trauma bonded at this point). My final remarks will conclude by saying that also under our team contract we are not allowed to talk about other teammates during personal meetings with her. I can personally say and also have multiple corroborating stories of times where she has deliberately spoken of other members of the time under pretenses to create an inner team divide between "her girls" which she recruited and the others who were recruited under another coach. There is a lot more I could say about this coach but my therapist and I think that this is enough to be used as a good exercise for this session."
