Poor Communication Disorganized Old School Mentality Dedicated To Players Knows The Game
"Burt is a disgrace to the game of basketball. Special favors makes him play a kid on his team right now that has no business playing d2 basketball. How sad work relationships determine playing time. On top of that he deterred his own team from doing the right thing in stoping the women’s coach from sleeping with his player. Instead he told us to shut up and mind our own business. What a great role model. Davenport is a clown school for real AND paying students and staff to keep their mouth shut is what this place does best."

Poor Communication Disorganized Old School Mentality Dedicated To Players Knows The Game
"NO one cares about doing the right thing at Davenport University. The school is full of coaches, staff and athletes that have ZERO integrity. A Coach's players actually showed integrity by going to him directly about the women’s basketball coach sleeping with a women’s basketball player. It’s widely known this girl would go into this coaches hotel room on away trips. Both teams knew this was occurring and how the athlete began to manipulate the coach to get what she wanted. The coach told his boys to MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS. This relationship CONTINUED TO HAPPEN bc him and athletic administration tried to COVER IT UP. It wasn’t until the coaches fiancé emailed everyone at DU and they were scared the press would get involved did they quietly let the coach go with applause and recommendation. Don’t worry the only thing he cared about was winning the conference tournament (2022) didn’t care about reporting what he saw, she just covered it up. Zero morals and integrity as a coach. Winning shouldn’t erase your responsibility as a coach. This entire athletic administration is backwards. They fail to do the right thing constantly and even go as far as convincing the athletes at this school this isn’t “that bad” behavior. Seriously a toxic, twisted cycle. Great role models to impressionable students. "

"Ask around helped cover up the women’s basketball coach sleeping with his athletes. These small men at DU have to stick together. No big deal at this school. He would be fired immediately anywhere else in the country. The entire athletic administration tried to cover it up. "

"Covered up the women’s basketball coach sleeping with a player. Did nothing about it despite his own athletes trying to help and do the right thing. He has had entire teams transfer every year. A blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again. Wins on the basketball court does NOT excuse his behavior and cover ups. Everyone in our small town knows this man did nothing. Sickening. "

"Despicable character. His own male athletes, one being my son tried to help and be honorable men. They witnessed the women’s basketball coach’s wrongdoing. He did nothing. From what I’m told he is obligated to report this and HE DID NOTHING. They tried to cover it up. The problem is too many people know about it now. "

"Burt’s players went to him out of concern for a wbb player in an inappropriate relationship and Burt told them to mind their own business. My son told me they saw the coach and player enter a hotel room together on an away trip. Those boys tried to do the right thing by going to their coach. He did absolutely nothing but try and cover it up! Disgusting behavior out of DU. Toxic leadership at its finest. "

"Lost entire team last season and told players to transfer. My son told me he is a loose cannon and needs anger management. That’s visible in every game you watch him coach. Regularly gets kicked out of games and the program has been declining. Instead of help build players he gives up on them and tells them to leave. "
