"I can agree that Coach Dan is very passionate about the sport of rowing, but he isn’t respectful to the majority of athletes on his team. I have personally been told to “shut the hell up”, and have heard other girls experiences with him over things I don’t agree that a coach should discuss because it crosses a boundary (weight comments to rowers and coxs, calling them names, and more). He was very nice when he first came to Kansas, but something changed very recently and I’ve never had a coach be so disrespectful to athletes both to their face and behind their back."

"Very knowledgeable about rowing but doesn’t seem to care about the personal lives of his towers and never asks how things are doing. Also says that it’s not his job to motivate us and puts a lot of blame onto his towers when things don’t go well"
