"I cannot say one good thing about this coaching staff. They have torn me apart mentally, and foster an incredibly toxic environment that has led an alarming number of people to quitting or transferring. They will then make fun of players after they've already left the team (and even some while they're still on the team). They make poor coaching choices then blame their players for following their directions. They are yellers and screamers. I can take yellers and screamers, but not when they are degrading and dehumanizing. They do not foster a positive environment and everyone talks bad about each other behind their backs. You have to constantly walk on eggshells in the locker room and know that nothing you say will ever be kept in confidence. The coaches will also talk bad about other players, to other players. When they're called out on the B.S. all they do is make excuses. I will never recommend this school to anyone while they are the coaches here. The girls and coaches have done and said some of the most vile things I have ever witnessed and nobody bats an eye about it, including the administration. The head coach doesn't show up to practice for the travel team or college team she runs. The assistant coach does all the responsibilities of a head coach. This includes coaching third base, calling pitches, giving signs, and running practice from start to finish because she is never there to run it herself. The head coach is the head coach in title only. They recruit players through the travel ball organization they run then those players get priority/are clear favorites on the team. You could be the best player to ever walk this earth, but if it is between you and a player from their organization, the player from their organization will play over you every single time. Practices are redundant, there is no real instruction. They recruit talent, but don't build on it. I felt like I severely regressed as a player. We also never worked on hitting and most girls paid for private instruction. They are not approachable in any way. I tried to ask them if there was anything I could do to earn some more playing time or if there was anything I should work on. They told me I am doing all the right things and they notice all my hard work. Then in the next post-game talk, the coaches complained about how people need to stop asking about playing time and that some people need to "learn their roles" on the team and that some people are just going to be cheerleaders. They also have no regard for your academics and will openly endorse cheating methods to make sure you remain eligible and are able to make the games. The only thing I am grateful for is the fact that he recruited some of my best friends and I at the same time so we could all be miserable together."
