"Coach Altizer is a nice person and very respectful to players but he does beat around the bush and will string along certain players rather than being honest with them about their roles. He has never played a snap of football in his life as he has told us. He has little knowledge on technique at the corner position specifically and not much for safeties either. He is not a coach who can really develop players because he either hardly corrects or just fails to notice certain technical errors. Therefore young players aren’t learning very much about the intricate details of either corner or safety. Overall he has a low standard in his defensive back room which will make it hard to succeed and grow if you didn’t already have prior knowledge or are getting developed from a source outside of your defensive back room. He is not currently fit to coach and lead a position group at the division 1 level or any program with a winning culture, maybe a lower level as a last minute scramble hire. Would recommend more years as a GA or assistant to increase football knowledge if at a higher level."
