"I hated college football, but I like my head coach (He was my head football coach at Malone University in Canton, Oh). I was in it for the wrong reasons. I didn’t have a scholarship and I thought my family back home would be disappointed if I quit football so I finished my redshirt season. Coach Hehman cared more about my general health than he did about me as a football player, and he told me that i was more than a football player and said that if I didn’t want to play a following season, I could do plenty of other things that were good and honorable; quitting didn’t make me less of a man. I always tried to prove people my worth by being a good player, but he told me I was valuable to God and that God loved me for being me. It was a turning point in my life. I walked from that office and away from football but closer to God. Coach Hehman was a big part of that. "
