"Coach Jeff is friendly at the start, but he has favorites and makes it blatantly obvious. He will watch his favorites race but if you arent a favorite he wont even watch your race at most meets.
He takes a technique focused approach to coaching, having specific focus groups in practice. He will watch his favorites and coach them.
The team culture itself is changing. He doesn't recruit based on how the team liked the recruit, the recruits academics, or the recruits times. He instead takes anyone who says they will want to swim for him. This has resulted in the team gaining people who will lie and have bad grades. He doesnt believe in punishments either, so they pretty much can get away with it and no amount of team intervention fixes this. "
