"Charismatic and fun coach who sees the positive in all situations. Helped push me past my laziness and saw the good in me. Our relationship only got better the more I saw she cares about me and I could not have imagined a better playing experience. Obviously her D1 experience and making any place she's been better shows her ability. She picks up the pieces and does what she does. I loved playing for an alumni who had the craziest bulldog spirit I have ever witnessed lol you go girl"

Great Leader Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture Develops Team Beyond The Field Great Communicator
"Coach Kara C-Vincent is one of those rare leaders who genuinely transforms LIVES! There has to be at least over 80 of us. Her greatest gift isn’t just LAX knowledge, it’s her ability to get players to believe in themselves, often before they believe it’s possible. This has always stuck with me. Kara could coach anywhere in the country, and she’s turned down major opportunities to stay rooted in Ohio, close to her family. Even with us in CA she stayed until the very end with us as a program. The loyalty she showed us meant everything and more. That choice says everything about her character. Kara is a hero to many of us, especially out west where we faced real adversity. Kara makes the most out of every tough situation and never lets negativity bring her down. I have watched her CRY on the sidelines because of how proud she was of me and my teammates. She has genuine love into her players and every program she touches is better for it. Beyond the field she goes above and beyond to help her players prepare for life after lacrosse, connecting at least SIX of us with jobs, opening doors through her network, and making sure we were set up for success post-graduation. I am more CONFIDENT because of KARA! Her impact lasts far longer than a season. Hopefully her bullies find a new hobby, because Kara will keep doing what she always does.. leading with strength, grace, and an unshakable belief in her players. xoxo"

"Coach Kara Concheck is the kind of leader who makes even the toughest situations feel manageable and has dealt with her fair share! She has an incredible ability to step into challenging moments, bring calm and clarity, and turn them into opportunities for growthhhhhh! Her POSITIVITY, perspective, and problem-solving skills consistently make things better, not just for the team, but for every individual involved. Every person coach comes into contact with walks away a better human and strong belief in themselves. In our last season at Fresno State, I grew more than I could have ever imagined and Kara stood with us every step of the way. Beyond her coaching ability, Coach K is an outstanding person. She genuinely cares about the young people she works with and is deeply invested in their development, both on and off the field. She teaches accountability, confidence, resilience, and character, helping young people become better athletes and even better humans. Coach K keep being you. Her impact goes far beyond what most understand. Coach K leaves a lasting impression by uplifting those around her, believing in them during hard moments, and guiding them toward their potential. Any program or athlete is better because of her presence. "

Great Leader Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture Develops Team Beyond The Field Great Communicator
"Being a parent I evaluate coaches very differently than I did before my child entered college. Wins matter—but who my child becomes matters far more. From that perspective, Coach Kara Concheck is exactly the kind of leader you hope your daughter encounters during such a formative time in her life. Across every program Coach Concheck has led, the pattern is unmistakable: she rebuilds, elevates, and leaves programs stronger than she found them. Not just on the scoreboard, but in structure, expectations, accountability, and belief. Programs under her leadership grow in competitiveness, discipline, and confidence. Athletes are developed not only into better players, but into young women who understand commitment, resilience, and self-respect. What stands out most to me as a parent is how Coach Concheck defines success. It is not rooted solely in accolades or recognition, but in character growth, ownership, and personal responsibility. She teaches athletes how to handle adversity, how to respond when things are hard, and how to show up with integrity even when the spotlight isn’t on them. Those lessons last far beyond college athletics. Developing young women is not easy work. Growth is uncomfortable. Accountability can feel challenging. And transformation often brings resistance. Yet Coach Concheck does not shy away from that responsibility. Instead, she continues to lead with consistency, honesty, and—most importantly—care. The adversity she faces does not harden her; it sharpens her purpose and strengthens her resolve to lead with love and intention. As a parent, I trust coaches who prepare athletes for life, not just for game day. Coach Kara Concheck does exactly that. She builds programs, yes—but more importantly, she helps build strong, capable women. That is the true measure of success, and it is why her impact will always extend far beyond any single season or institution."

"As a coaching colleague who understands both the realities of collegiate athletics and the emotional challenges athletes face when expectations are not met, I feel compelled to address recent false claims made against Coach Kara Concheck upon her taking over at Capital. These statements are misleading, unsupported by facts, and clearly rooted in personal frustration rather than objective truth. It is very clear that Coach Kara is above the mess of Capital's former leadership and toxic culture. The review in question reflects the perspective of a disgruntled Capital player who did not earn significant playing time or recognition. Unfortunately, when athletes struggle to find a role or fail to receive the spotlight they hoped for, it is not uncommon for disappointment to be redirected as blame. That dynamic does not equate to misconduct, mistreatment, or poor leadership—it reflects unmet personal expectations. Coach Concheck leads with truth, love, and empathy despite those who want to be harmful. Coach Concheck’s career speaks loudly and consistently. "

Great Leader Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture Develops Team Beyond The Field Great Communicator
"I have worked in collegiate athletics for decades, and it is rare to encounter a head coach with the consistency, credibility, and program-building impact that Coach Kara Concheck brings to every institution she serves. Across three Division I head coaching roles, the common thread is simple and undeniable: each program was better when she left than when she arrived. Echoing the exact message from previous thread as we bound together to support our dear friend dealing with online harassment. At Saint Francis, her ability to identify and develop talent resulted in two of her recruits earning Player of the Year honors, while also helping lead the program to an NEC Championship. At Fresno State, she elevated the program to historic heights, advancing to the first MPSF Championship appearance in school history—a benchmark achievement that reflects disciplined leadership, culture change, and competitive growth. Her recruiting success is equally telling, including recruiting the core of the current Winthrop roster projected through the 2026 season, a testament to the trust athletes place in her vision and integrity. Coach Concheck is known throughout the coaching community as someone who demands excellence, accountability, and professionalism, not just wins. Those standards are not always comfortable, particularly for athletes unaccustomed to being challenged. Since her arrival at Capital, frustration from a small number of Division III athletes who did not receive all-conference recognition has unfortunately shifted toward public complaints rather than personal responsibility or growth. That reaction says far more about the discomfort of change than it does about Coach Concheck’s leadership. What does speak clearly is her reputation. Anonymous or repeated critiques cannot outweigh a career’s worth of results, relationships, and respect across multiple conferences and institutions. Coaches, administrators, and—most importantly—former players consistently describe her as honest, invested, demanding, and fair. She can be too intense for some with the amount of passion she shows. But this is the new culture of unique student-athletes. In this profession, sustained success matters. Player development matters. Culture matters. Coach Kara Concheck has proven time and again that she understands all three, and her body of work reflects a coach who leaves lasting, positive impact wherever she leads."

Great Leader Believes In You Creates A Great Team Culture Develops Team Beyond The Field Great Communicator
"As a coaching colleague who has spent years in Division I athletics, I can say without hesitation that Coach Kara Concheck is one of the most impactful leaders in our profession. She has served as a Division I head coach at three different institutions, and in every case, she has left each program stronger, more competitive, and better positioned for long-term success than when she arrived. At Saint Francis, two of her recruits earned Player of the Year honors, and the program captured an NEC Championship—a clear reflection of her ability to evaluate talent, develop athletes, and build winning cultures. At Fresno State, she guided the program to its first-ever MPSF Championship appearance, a milestone that speaks volumes about her leadership and program-building skills. Her recruiting success is equally undeniable, having recruited the entire Winthrop roster currently slated for the 2026 season, aside from transfers—an achievement that underscores the trust athletes place in her vision and coaching. The Winthrop program will continue to soar due to the foundations Coach laid. Coach Concheck’s track record makes one thing very clear: she consistently elevates the programs she leads. Since taking over at Capital, much of the criticism directed toward her stems not from performance or leadership failures, but from resistance to accountability. A small group of Division III athletes who did not earn all-conference recognition chose to respond with complaints rather than allowing their work on the court to speak for itself. Unfortunately, this has manifested in unproductive behavior, including bullying and public criticism, rather than constructive engagement. Anyone familiar with the profession understands that high standards and honest evaluation are essential to growth, and Coach Concheck has never shied away from either. Her reputation extends far beyond anonymous or repetitive reviews. You can speak with athletes who have played for her at any level, and the message is consistent: she is demanding, fair, deeply invested in her players, and committed to excellence. The false accusations and lies have gone too far but it is clear this person will stop at nothing and is consumed with attempting to tarnish Coach Concheck. In this profession, results, integrity, and relationships matter. Coach Kara Concheck has demonstrated all three throughout her career. Simply put, her body of work speaks for itself."

"Kara Concheck ruined my self-image, not only as a player, but as a person. She is deceptive, manipulative, and uses her position of authority to put others down. Kara has told players how their mental health does not matter and tried to turn teammates against each other for her own agenda. She is a sad excuse for a leader, as she cannot be successful due to her conniving and narcissistic ways. Her coaching style is toxic, as well as the culture she creates for the teams she is with. She has been known to try and steal committed recruits from other schools, talk poorly about past players and coaches of programs, and send anonymous text messages to conference coaches and player's parents when she is too cowardly to claim her viscous and hurtful words. This is what Kara does, deflect her own insecurities onto other people to make herself feel more whole. What Kara lacks in humanity, awareness, and leadership, she makes up for with an alarming amount of narcissism and lack of awareness. Kara is a terrible role model for these young women in such a critical developmental time in their lives. I only hope that her next player she uses as her emotional and mental abuse punching bag is strong enough to come out on the other side, becoming everything that Coach Concheck is not. My thoughts and prayers go out to the girls she has affected, are affecting currently, and will unfortunately hurt in the future. Hopefully her terror on the lacrosse community will end soon. "

"Coach Kara is genuinely the best coach I have ever had. I was still a new lacrosse player aspiring to play at the Division 1 level and she gave me a chance I won’t forget and I will always try to make her proud. From day one, she helped me believe in myself in ways I didn’t even realize I needed. One of her biggest mottos is encouraging others, and she lives that every single day. She never just coached the athlete, she cared about the person. She took time to connect with my family, even going out of her way to introduce herself to my grandparents after games, which meant more to me than she probably knows. That’s just who Kara is, she has a rare gift of making people feel seen and important. I will always cherish my time with her. I know the transition into the world of D3 sports at Capital hasn’t been smooth for her because of the team she took over, but she breeds excellence no matter what. Her positive attitude and outlook never wavered with us, and that consistency made such a difference for our team. I’ll never forget outscoring Duke in the first quarter a few years ago while she was pregnant. I am always inspired by her. She constantly preaches the importance of being vulnerable and authentic, and the most powerful part was that she wore that every day herself. Because she practiced what she preached, she created an environment where I truly felt safe being myself. Playing for Kara didn’t just make me a better athlete, it made me a more confident person, and that’s something I’ll carry with me forever."

"We have put four children through college athletics and seen too much. The good and the bad, and what I can say confidently is Coach Kara is pure GOODNESS and instills GREATNESS in ALL, even the non-deserving of such things! My daughter was "recruited" to speak negatively by this mother/daughter duo and refused. They continue to seek revenge and have deep bitterness due to poor outcomes on their end. No wonder coaches are migrating out of coaching! Our family does not support those who make false claims, and we learned there is a particular family seeking revenge and has attempted to get others on board, due to lack of playing time. Yes, you heard that right! That is the root cause, If you score poorly on a test you didn't prepare for, is this the teachers fault? That's my analogy for this situation. This is an unfortunately story for many coaches who have dealt with entitlement. As my sons coach says "weed out the weak!" Anyone who has some sense in them, knows better. As previous posts say, even anonymous, we stand with Coach Kara and advise those to have more common sense. Our supportive parent group over the years runs deep with Kara and her family and she earned our respect and trust."

"Our daughter does private lessons and group sessions with Coach here in Columbus, and we are ecstatic on not only the growth we have observed but the confidence our daughter has developed. She wants to play in college and is getting college ready under coachs guidance. The results speak for themselves and Coach has been a game changer for us! Our daughter is motivated to improve with Coachs honest and constructive revisions to her game. Every lesson is meaningful and well worth it. Coach also cares about our daughter as a person which we took notice too right away in the way she communicates. I also noticed her creativity and energy she has makes a difference in her sessions, really targeting each players needs. She knows what she is doing. Grade A++++ and welcome back to Columbus we are thrilled! It is nice to see our not so little anymore laxer have someone like her who believes in her."

"Since Coach Kara took over our Impact team this summer, the growth in this team has been unreal. We had not had a lot of wins in previous years and the energy was low. Most players were not on the same page. This weekend we especially took notice while in Pennsylvania for our first fall tournament winning all of our games. The girls are playing with so much more confidence and energy you can just see how much fun they’re having out there. The chemistry they have is fun to watch and that has been a big work in progress. Their stick work, shooting and on field connections have come such a long way, and they have been playing with FIRE. You can see how much she cares for the girls and takes the time to speak with them individually. She’s put a ton of work in this summer and fall and makes sure each player knows their role and feels important and is consistent which is not always high on a coaches list. It’s been so great watching them play and really believe in themselves again! We are happy to have such a great coach with us."

"When Coach Kara Concheck came to Winthrop, things weren’t easy. The team was in a rough spot — culture, confidence, connection — all of it. But Kara has this way of stepping into chaos and somehow making it better. Honestly, she was the saving grace we needed. I knew it was going to take some time to work through those who belonged on our team, and those who didn’t see the big picture. We are on the other side of this and it could not be more amazing. I am a two year team captain for a program that is a family. From day one, she was real with us. No sugarcoating, no fake hype — just truth. She cuts through any BS or selfishness fast. Be ready to answer hard questions and take a real look in the mirror, because Kara will challenge you to meet yourself with honesty. You’re either ready to grow, or you’ll find an excuse not to. That’s what separates her players — we learned to own it, care more, and fight for each other. That’s where the transformation happened. Aside from her honesty that comes from a place of care (my mother away from home lol) one of her biggest strengths is recruiting. She doesn’t just look for skill — she finds the right people. The ones who fit, who care, who want to build something together. That’s how we started turning things around. These girls have become my best friends. I’m so excited to see what we can do with the groundwork that’s been laid down. She also prepped our assistant coach to step up into a greater role as our new coach and has done an amazing job. Through all the ups and downs, Kara showed up every single day with heart and belief — even when others didn’t. She gives everything she has to her players, sometimes to the point of being taken advantage of, but it’s because she truly cares. Every program she’s been part of, she’s left in a better place — with stronger leaders and a tighter culture. Winthrop’s success now didn’t happen by accident. The foundation was built through her hard work, her love, and her refusal to give up on us. Coach Kara doesn’t just coach teams — she changes them. And if you’re lucky enough to be coached by her, be ready to grow."

"Ummm WHAT is going ON? Parents, players, alumni, WAKE UP and realize what this poor coach has to endure! Today I learned from another colleague that the former Capital coach before Coach K hacked into their social media and changed the account ownership so the team and administrators could not access it. This is a toxic program with team members who have no respect or dignity. I pray the situation gets better, Capital doesn’t deserve a coach like Coach Concheck-Vincent. that the former coach at Capital, prior to Kara, not only left the program in complete disarray, but spoke with the players the entire spring season and were in their early. What “coach” does this? Remove yourself and move on with your life, lady. Miss Kara.. you should have stayed in coaching anywhere else but here. Our family will be praying for this toxic environment coach is enduring, and her poor assistant coached is an amazing person. God will be watching over you!"

"All this coach does is create drama. Drama within the team, parents, staff and alumni. She fuels for it, she helps create it. She stirs the pot with any individual she has a conversation with. She lies, manipulates and threatens players to tell them what she wants to hear then uses it against them. Record everything. Don’t trust anything she says. "

"The facts are the facts, and the facts are, Coach has a reputation that speaks for itself. Coach Kara has outpouring support across the country, from student-athletes and their families, and those who know her. When she asked for help with a family that has bullied her, we came to support her. The writing is on the wall! This is all to common unfortunately in the coaching space. Experience Coach for yourself, speak with relevant team members or real former players, and inform your own opinion. You will be happy you did."

"Kara is the WORST thing to happen to any program she joins. She has lots of knowledge of lacrosse- but is a failure at explaining it, coaching, leading a team. If Kara has anything nice to you, document it! She is a manipulative liar who cares more about gossiping and emotionally gaslighting players than building a program or having a team with a good, true relationship. Emotional abusive to her players- unless they praise the floor she stands on! If you weren’t her favorite she’d tell you to be an athlete in the most rude, emotionally pulling way! "

"Playing for Coach Kara was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. She created an environment that was full of warmth, energy, and fun, but also built around hard work and respect. Every day at practice felt like we were part of something bigger than just lacrosse. It was about becoming better people, not just better players. I can not think of a coach that cares more than Coach Kara. I was so committed to helping build our program at Saint Francis. The vision Coach Kara had we were all invested in. We put in so much effort together, and some of my best memories are from those early years, the road trips, the laughs, the team-building nights, and the friendships that came out of it. I made my best friends for life during those seasons. And having Coach Kara and Coach Katherine together? Truly the best staff to ever exist. They were the best pair and they pushed us, supported us, and made everything we did feel meaningful. There was a point when I was really struggling personally... I was in a downward spiral with depression that even my own family didn’t notice. Coach Kara did. She saw something was off and took the time to check in, to really talk with me, and to make sure I got the help I needed. That moment changed everything for me. It showed me how much she genuinely cared about who we were beyond the field. Now I’m working in New York City, using the confidence, communication, and leadership skills I built under her guidance. My parents still check in with her and thank her for helping me through one of the hardest years of my life. Anyone who has something negative to say about Coach Kara probably took the easy way out and didn’t want to do the hard work. You get out what you put in. With her, it’s more than a game, it’s about the relationships you build, the lessons you learn, and the person you become along the way. Her words like this always stuck in my head on what my experience meant, but mostly her actions. Thank you Coach"

"Coach Kara Concheck. My daughter and her peers have come together in support of Kara. Kara is an exceptional coach and leader who builds not only skilled athletes but strong young ladies. I have witnessed firsthand the incredible culture she has cultivated—a culture of respect, growth, and community, exemplified during events like Family Friends Weekend mentioned in previous post, and more. She steps into every challenging situation with integrity, handles difficult moments head-on, and consistently prioritizes her players as individuals. It is important to acknowledge that while Kara was on maternity leave, she was unfairly harassed by a parent demanding answers about their daughter’s playing time: a situation that was both sickening and completely inappropriate. This family contributed nothing to our post game tailgates, segregating themselves from the team due to their daughters lack of playing time. They were aggressive and aimed to get others on board with no success. This is the family behind cowardly comments. These actions reflect poorly on the parent, not Kara. Her professionalism and dedication never wavered, even in the face of such entitlement and harassment. I couldn’t believe the harassment she faced when I heard from others. Unacceptable. My daughter was not a starter but knew what she needed to do to grow. Kara’s approach with her athletes models life skills: my daughter worked with Kara one-on-one to broaden her skills, and they engaged in open, honest conversations about playing time and development—conversations handled like mature adults. This kind of mentorship, emphasizing communication, personal growth, and resilience, is what sets Kara apart. Parents should trust her expertise and allow their children to navigate their athletic experiences as responsible young adults. Experience Kara Concheck for yourself, and you will find a passionate, knowledgeable, and heroic leader who puts her players f******s people. Her own words during a freshmen parent meeting, that she loves the girls she coaches, are not just words—they are evident in every interaction. Disregard the petty, vindictive actions of a few, and you will find a coach who creates genuine, meaningful, and lasting impact. "

"Lies during recruitment. Very disingenuous. Manipulative. Completely leads you along and makes promises and when you ask she claims she never said or meant that. Take any recruiting promises with a grain of salt if she doesn't put it in writing or email. Record phone calls."

"I played for Coach Kara 3 years ago. She was great during the recruiting process. She knows and loves the game but didn’t set us up to win. I saw her play favorites and treat people differently that didn’t agree with her. My advice is to stay on her good side so you have a better experience. "
