"Not the right fit for our daughter. The culture was aggressive and very controlling. Completely different from when we visited, we felt like we got a 180ed. Very little time was left for our daughter outside of volleyball even in the off season, we felt her academics were not placed as priority number 1. We felt the amount time for volleyball vs what is left for studies, personal time and a social life was imbalanced and really not for discussion. Kera wants what she wants. This issue arose time and time again. We too heard about the team's continuing inner fighting and thought this is just typical stuff but it is not anything typical. We were thankful our daughter was able to navigate the experience and fair better than others. I myself was a college athlete many many years ago and things were different then! Kera could improve her professionalism, organization, prioritization and her ability to unite the team. "

"I played here for a couple of years and at first it seemed like the perfect fit! I was so excited for this new chapter in my life, new friends, new atmosphere, new coach, just new everything! After a couple of months I had recognized a couple of red flags, like being in the office thinking that we are going to talk about volleyball, instead talking about other players. Kera makes you feel like her office is safe and that your conversations stay with her… that was not the case. Not only would she talk about just players, she also would speak negatively about her coaching staff while also disrespecting them at practice. Players behind the scenes would talk about how we could run a better practice than her because we do the same drills nearly everyday along without knowing which mood of Kera’s you were going to get that day. Last year is girls all went out for Halloween and yes we all drank, should we have? No because it was a dry season and knew we shouldn’t of. Well we lost a game a couple of days later and one player who had a very inappropriate relationship with kera walked up to the front of the bus and told kera we all went out. So kera stood up and asked who all drank that weekend to raise their hands, after that we never really had a true day off because she would make us wake up early every weekend to do film, team activities, or mostly community service. So we were all so mentally and physically exhausted. Not to mention we were watching film specifically against HSU and Kera thought it was appropriate to say about the player number 12 that she is “ratchet and ghetto but that’s okay for me to say because I married a black man so I’m not racist.” To the people on this review page attacking those who had terrible experiences at ATU, that’s not fair and one day you realize the situations you are going through aren’t normal or healthy. You are still loved by those who left just know people have different experiences when they aren’t a favorite of Kera’s. "

"in the middle of our game were ask what punishment we wanted if we lose. we lost and we told we wouldn't get dinner. practices are unorganized. we have to let her see ALL of our social media. we fear retaliation if we say something. ENOUGH SAID!! Do better Coach!!"

We are proud of our daughter for recognizing this troubling culture and removing herself. "Played for Coach Kera a few years back. program was unorganized and toxic. I think she is pretty knowledgeable about volleyball but her people skills are so bad that there was always some fighting going on. we always knew what player had the target on there back. "

"As a parent, I was extremely disappointed in the treatment of parents and players from out of state. We saw favoritism, fear tactics and disrespect constantly. We pulled her out as quick as possible after only one season. I wouldn't recommend sending your daughter to Kera Dukics program. She seems to be in fear of loosing her own job so the unchoosen ones get the brunt of her anxiety. My daughter was also always streeses because the program was so unorganized and it effected her classes. Since moving on to another school, we have seen it done right! This is what our family experience. Just hoping others girls can enjoy their collegiate experience."

"please do not use 4 years of your life here. many people left for a reason and somehow it still goes unnoticed as to why they left. Just as blinded as she is, so is her staff. I watched everything unfold before my eyes and thankfully left when I could. My mental health plummeted when I arrived at Arkansas Tech and did not get the help I deserved. I was left on the back burner and had my own teammates talking behind my back and trying to kick me off the team. Culture? As if. A memorable story? Finally winning a ring. "

"We lost a game and she wouldn’t feed us. Told us all to enter the portal and that she doesn’t care. Begged us to win a game or else she’d lose her job (told us that directly). Endless stairs and jump rope when we could be working on actual volleyball. Stalks your social media and judges. Body shamed a component on film. Everyone on the team goes to a counselor because of her. So many girls transferred last year and not once did she think to look at herself. Politics, she will play her favorites rather than the best players. When her puppets don’t play they say they’ll quit or cry then they get their starting spot back when wrongfully deserved. She’s just very manipulative, toxic, and inappropriate to say the least. If you want to get better at volleyball, don’t count on it here. I’m sure she’s a fun person outside of volleyball but as a coach it’s just too much. "

"I will have lasting damage into my adult life because of this program and this coach. These coaches are suppose to be a part of building the foundation of your adult life: leaving home for the first time, starting college, building a young confident woman. But she does anything but that, she will rip you to shreds, manipulate you, control you in every which way and in ways you didn’t even know were possible, there’s two lengthy reviews on here and I really hope you take the time to read them because they are 100% true. I was body shamed in a program that’s suppose to be “body positivity” all the time. I beg you… do not go here. I do not say this lightly but some one, one day will be pushed way too far by this coach that they will seriously harm themselves. I’m disgusted by the university system that this woman is allowed to one represent them and two not listen to the concerns of MULTIPLE players who’s came to them and pleaded for something to be done or just to be heard. Look at the rosters, her retention rate is horrible. There’s so many red flags here how is nothing ever been done? And all of us are so scared because this woman is RETALIATORY never in my life would I thought I’d describe a coach as retaliatory! I could write a novel about how bad, unorganized, manipulative, degrading this program is. I thought about taking my life when I was in this program… please do not go here and please read the other reviews."

"Where do I even begin. If you thoroughly enjoy the game of volleyball and want to play at the next level please do NOT come here. Firstly, to describe the coach she is manipulative, dishonest, inconsiderate, untrustworthy, and condescending. On your visit she will tell you what you want to hear. She will tell you that you will play coming in. NOT true. She will have 8 other girls she is either recruiting or that are already here or committed to playing here. Look at the roster yourself it is in the 20s. She will say she is big on team culture. But In reality she isn’t. She only cares about making herself look better. Kera’s coaching style is FEARFUL and DISORGANIZED. She will change practice the day of. She will send you to events that she has wrong in the calendar, and she always forgets our class schedules or messes them up. During practice or games if things are not going in her favor she breaks down and finds things or people to blame it on. Instead of taking accountability for herself. One game in particular she lost and when the athletes got onto the bus she made everyone raise their hand if they went out that weekend prior. She then elaborated and asked if players were drinking or not. I found this to be extremely disrespectful because, not only did she give girls that weekend off but it also pitted a lot of the team against each other. And the loss had nothing to do with people going out that weekend prior or not. She simply just got out coached. Although 2021 was a very successful year it was mentally draining for everyone. She had an inappropriate relationship with one of the players on the team. She would let the girl stay the night at her house, she took her car keys, and would always be in communication with the girl. The girl one game got pulled and she said on the sidelines “coach has to pull the whole starting lineup because she knows if she just pulled me I would kill myself. “ Everyone else on the team was very worried and scared after she said that. The whole relationship was built off of manipulation. The girl had no business playing college volleyball she needed to get professional help. But coach allowed the poor behavior. During meetings she also loves to talk poorly about other players instead of talking about volleyball. This is just a small bit of what goes on in this program. Yes, I know that all programs have their issues but, this program is bad. It is built on manipulation, fearfulness, and disorganization. And masked with trying to put up a front that she is all about team culture and identity. I really pray either Kera wakes up and does some self evaluating or ATU will one day but the student athletes first and find someone that will be a positive face for young women in college athletics. "

"The other review before this one is 100% correct. This coach is about all of the opposite things you would want in a coach. One thing that she does is okay a lot of mind games. She will recruit about 8 girls in the same position as you and tell every single one of you that you will start or play. When she loses games she never takes ownership that she was out coached. She will instead have an intense huddle and say passive aggressive things to the whole team to make everyone question if it is them she is talking about or not. If you would like to excel at the next level this program is not for you at all. She is not fit to lead young woman. And ATU should be ashamed of themselves for keeping her around this long when players have come forward about issues they have had with her. Just to add to the fact she also has a DUI that she obtained while she was a coach here and they still didn’t fire her. "

"I found Kera Dukic's program to have many issues with disorganization, changing expectations, bullying from people in a position of authority, public shaming and lots ands lots of retaliation against players she "doesn't like". She never put the student before the athlete. She made me late to multiple classes and tests. She had us show up to events that she recorded wrong in her calendar, so so many times. NO respect for the students time or gas to drive to these things. However, players are expected to be to practice 15 minutes early, she is always late to the practices that we must be to on time. She would change our practice time, the day of practice, this happens all the time!! At this level, she should have this stuff figured out and show the team the same respect that she is expecting. She does know the game but I have had high schools coaches give better instructions, show more care and encouragement. This program has had issues with her retaliating against players who chose to transfer. She told the team she called this player's new coach to tell them what a bad person our teammate was! We all felt this was to put fear into us that she would do the same thing if we wanted to transfer out. She talks so badly about former players to the current team, it just so uncomfortable for most of us. Her coaching style is negative, fearful and all about HER! She says it is a family but most players leave after 1 year. Review the roster, there is so much turnover that speaks for itself. Kera is unhealthy, she really shouldn't be in a position to lead or influence young women. ATU should do better at vetting out these people. I have been part of programs that demonstrate an all inclusive team culture, respect to all players former or current and an ability to bring the best our in each individual. Kera expects everyone to adjust to her, when in fact she is the coach and she should sense the specific needs of each player. She is a low-level coach, high school at best. "
