"When you first meet her she seems like a sincere and knowledgeable coach. She has decades of coaching experience and many excellent athletes have come from her program. Her training strategy can work for some people, but if it doesn’t work for you she refuses to make any accommodations. If you have any medical or physical limitations (especially diabetes) you don’t want anything to do with her. Despite coaching several athletes with similar illnesses she has not respect for them, and will ridicule them for needing time out of practice to stabilize their health. If you come down with a sickness or get injured during the season she refuses to listen to health professionals, instead stating her “experience” as being more important than their professional opinion. She is childish, and holds a grudge like no one I’ve ever met. If you make her mad or she thinks you disrespect her in any way, she will hold on to that for as long as you know her. With the recent retirement of her assistant coach she has gotten several times worse, there have been several cases where she has stormed out of practice or refused to talk to anyone during practice because she had a bad day.
In conclusion, she is a solid coach with lots of experience, but she is an awful person and has made being an athlete torture."
