"Marissa Chew is an amazing coach and has helped me fall in love with the sport of track and field again. She was the recipient of a group of 5 athletes that she did not recruit. One of these athletes and their parent made a post reviewing Marissa Chew in a very biased, dishonest, and misleading way that did not portray her for who she truly is. These athletes lacked the emotional maturity to accept a new coach, and because they were entitled and rude, they were promptly removed from the team. In my opinion, Coach Chew made exactly the right decision. She cares deeply for all of her athletes, and a group on the team was treating others and herself with disrespect and she protected the other athletes/culture of the team by removing them. Coach chew has always shown a high level of care, empathy, and kindness towards her athletes. She always conducts herself in a professional, yet respectful and empathetic way towards her athletes. I highly recommend Marissa Chew and the TCU Track & Field coaching staff. If you want a coach and a team that values you as a person as well as an athlete, TCU Track & Field with Coach Chew is the place to be."

"This coach cares a lot and athletes changing and growing and moving forward. Problem we have in todays society is the kids think that everyone is supposed to mold to them. Unfortunately in athletics and dream chasing, they do not get achieved without you growing and improving. So if you want to improve and grow to achieve your dreams then you need to be able to adjust and grow. "

"Marissa Chew is a terrible person, let alone a coach. She does NOT care about her athletes mental health, their success or any part of their well being. She caused irreversible mental damage to my daughter and her 5 team mates at TCU and they will never be the same. She took away their hopes and dreams by "removing them" from the team, in retaliation of the students reporting her for unsafe practices, ie not providing water or supervision on hot practice days or suggesting unsafe drills at practices. Do NOT send your athlete to this school. This is the worst experience one could imagine- she is a terrible person."

"Marissa Chew single handedly destroyed my track and field career. She is dishonest, conniving, and a horrible leader. I cannot say enough bad things about this person. She will do anything to get her way, even if that means destroying other people in her path. If I were a parent, I would never feel comfortable sending my child off to a school to be coached by her. The trauma I endured under her coaching will permanently effect me for the rest of my life. Anyone being recruited by her, please take this into consideration. Nothing I am saying is an exaggeration, it is simply the truth of what it is like being coached by her. For example, there was one week of training where she was gone for one week in September. Our training group had to practice alone in 100 degree weather without water or supervision because she failed to contact any other coaches or athletic trainers to tell them she would not be there. She is unreliable, irresponsible, and lacks a concerning amount of empathy. She divided the team and created a toxic culture. To further explain what kind of coach she is, myself and 4 other teammates were kicked off the track team one week before final exams. We were not provided any insight as to why we were being kicked off, and she promptly left campus as soon as she told us she was kicking us off. We later heard she had been joking with other teammates about kicking us off later that week, further signifying her lack of empathy for others. Although Marissa is a huge contributor the the toxic culture, the entire coaching staff at the TCU track and field program is horrifying as well. Even if you are not recruited by Marissa, I would not recommend joining this team under any of the coaches. The head coach is self absorbed, egotistical, inconsiderate, and for lack of a better word, a moron. I will never be the same person because of Marissa and this program. Hopefully one day I will be able to forgive her for ripping away my dreams from me. "
