"Coach Marty Eggleston made a lasting impact on me both as a player and as a person. From day one, he set a standard of discipline, accountability, and consistency that pushed me to grow beyond what I thought I was capable of. He didn’t just coach the game, he taught us how to approach challenges, stay mentally tough, and carry ourselves with purpose on and off the court. Honestly, basketball was the easy part. What stood out most was his genuine belief in his players, along with his vast knowledge of the game. Coach Marty has an incredible ability to teach the details, breaking down situations, reading the game, and understanding what it takes to compete at a higher level. Because of him, I see the game differently now, and I feel fully prepared and confident to take the next step in my basketball career. He took time to develop us individually, not just as athletes but as young men, emphasizing character, responsibility, and preparation for life after basketball. Because of him, I left the program better in every way, more disciplined, more confident, and more prepared for whatever comes next. I’m grateful for the role he played in my development and the standard he set that I still carry with me today. "

"I'm glad to have this opportunity to share my thoughts about Coach Marty. I've known Coach Marty his entire time at Lorain County Community College. He cares deeply for his basketball players. He wants them all to be good MEN. Being a good man is a priority to Coach Marty as well as being a good student. He spends time helping students through-out our whole campus. He mentors students and is a true leader. LCCC is a much better school because of his leadership. He goes above and beyond with our students. My husband and I have attended multiple basketball games here at LCCC. Coach Marty holds himself to a high standard. He is respectful to other coaches and other players. "
