"Playing for Coach Barrett was the best hockey of my life. He knows the game inside and out. He was able to come in a rebuild a culture where everyone bought in. No matter what decision he made, we followed even if we did not understand why at first. He cares deeply about our academics as we are students first. He cares deeply about our athletics and wants us to do well as individuals and as a team. He cares deeply about us as people, he wants to see us do well in life- not just hockey and school. Coach Barrett was incredibly respectful of us as people and as players. He understands that we are human too. He is very approachable and will tell you straight up answers. He takes the game very seriously, but he quickly became known to crack a few jokes here and there. Best coach I’ve ever had. I am currently graduated, but he helped me find my full time job and has supported me every step of the way. "
