"Nicole is a great person, but an eh coach - at best. She is relatively organized, plans ahead, and communicates non-volleyball details early and effectively, but anything related to volleyball is a joke. Unless you have a high IQ and know how to fix your own mistakes, watch film and coach yourself, etc, you will leave worse than you came in. If you ask for feedback or ask how to get better she will call you selfish and say so and so is doing well so you don't have to be doing well, and then will turn it on you and say XYZ part of your game is bad and that's why the team loses games, yet refuses to actually help you get better at any skill. She has very limited knowledge of the game, and the only reason LR stays consistently in the top half of the conference is because of transfers. Look back at rosters and you will see the only people who ever see the court at LR are transfers and people who have played since their freshman year. Why, you ask? Because Nicole is incapable of developing players, either you come in at a level ready to play or you never set foot on the court. Overall, would not recommend this school/coaching staff to anyone who wants to enjoy their time. If you are not very competitive, are okay with losing to bad teams, cool with coaches picking favorites and bending the rules for the favorites, and just have no desire to get better and push the team to new heights, you're probably okay with going here. All that to say, it's not a horrible environment, Nicole is generally nice, just everything surrounding volleyball sucks so bad I am surprised (along with 90%+ of graduates over the last 3 years) she got the job and still has it. Really is sad to look at how much talent she has every year and how she manages to take a potentially great team and make them average at best."
