"Gress is direct, treats players as mature adults, not high schoolers. If you are not playing as much as you would like or thing you should be, he will listen to you and explain what you need to accomplish in practice to earn more play time. He wants to win for sure but values players who are also quality people off the field. Swarthmore's record in lacrosse is not the strongest, but the team is close knit and Gress picks players that are serious about lacrosse and are students that can get into the school, which relatively speaking, limits the universe of prospects significantly."
