"He may know how to play soccer, but he is an awful coach. He has no business even being apart of a Christian university such as SAGU, let alone allowed to be coaching a women’s team. No matter how many complaints have been brought up against him, both to HR and the Athletic Director, he somehow manages to retain his position. If I would have had the guts to do it, I would have called the police on multiple occasions for his perverted, disgusting, and unethical behavior. Though unfortunately, I’m sure they still wouldn’t have been able to do much about it. Honestly, him being allowed to coach at SAGU tells you a lot about how the university is ran and the behavior they allow, but sweep under the rug in attempt to put up this facade that we are such a perfect and safe university.
Just know, if you choose to be coached by him…expect to be humiliated, beat down, sexualized, and emotionally abused. "
"There is so much I could say about Paul Hason, but no one wants to read a 10 page essay about why I think he’s sucks, so i’ll just say this: If you value your mental health, he isn’t the coach for you. If you are not white or hispanic, he isn’t the coach for you. If you are shapely/over about 130 pounds, he isn't the coach for you. If you value authentic christianity, good character, morals, and overall human decency, he isn’t the coach for you. If not, have fun I guess… Choose him at your own risk. You’ve been warned."
"Very aggressive with his speaking style; likes to record audio without you knowing; cannot take a joke; will kick you off if you don’t like being called fat; will call you out for having a bad relationship with your dad; doesn’t like retaliation (don’t forget it’s illegal to kick someone off for retaliation!); almost sent someone home on a mission trip from Egypt because he didn’t like the player calling out his son for repeating the N-word; believes his wife can teach speaking in tongues; will call you broke and then ask you to pay for a 5k mission trip; they, as a coaching staff, prompt eating disorders.
There’s so much more…
Rip to all players that were ever under him"
"He lied about me so that he could kick me off the team after he found out I reported him to Human Resources for: abusing us as players, threatening to send one of my teammates home ALONE from Cairo, Egypt, after his son made a racist comment and she raised her voice at him; he recorded our conversations in our locker room while the door was shut without him being present or getting our consent or even telling us what he was doing when he said “place the phone in the floor by [a players] feet”(heard from the recording he later showed us) (illegal according to Texas Penal Code, Section 16.02, and Article 18A.001 of Texas Code of Criminal Procedure), offering up details about a player’s personal life including defamation of her families character, making racist comments against Hispanic culture (including, but not limited to, the direct quote “Mexican’s have bad relationships with their fathers”), disclosing to the whole team the amounts of scholarships specific students lost due to breaking the code of conduct, physically lunging at various players in the middle of halftime and verbally assaulting them, and calling every player’s parents and significant others “toxic” and saying they could not be trusted to help players make decisions about their future— but that’s not even the whole 5+ page report.
He’s still at it, too. He had an entire practice without any athletic trainer present (Fall 23 season) where they worked solely on headers which he shot at their heads, and he would not allow players to stop taking headers even though they were getting dizzy or physically hurt. In my entire time on that team, not a single player felt comfortable telling Paul Hason or Natalie Solorio that they were hurt because of how negatively they responded to the players.
He has a good amount of knowledge for goalkeepers, but not enough knowledge to coach an entire team. On top of that, no player who comes to this team leaves a better player. He recruits players for the way that they are and does not help them grow.
His coaching of female players is terrible. One player had her nose broken during the first game of the fall season 2022 and her first game back in the goal he told her to not care about what she has to do to get that ball out of the goal, even yelling “you bring your knee up and smash her in the face if that is what it takes”. I am not sure how well he coached men, but he is not meant to coach female players. He claims that coaching female players is what he needs because of the relationship with the players that comes from it, but his knowledge of the female brain, hormonal system, or coaching methods is not broad enough to be fulfill those desires."
"If I could give this awful man a 0 I would. He is abusive in all ways. A very hateful and disgusting human if you would even say that he is human. If you or anyone you love is being recruited by him get as far away ad possibly. "
