"Coach Phil Carney is one of the best there is. A steward of Division 3 rowing at large, he continues to lead Wesleyan Crew to incredible results race after race. As the program exits a year including medalling spots at IRAs and Head of the Charles, as well as an IRA D3 Coach of the Year appointment for Phil in the early years of the new events, Phil continues to train athletes at the highest level D3 has to offer, while still providing academic support and knowledgable advice for on and off the water to athletes."
