"Coach Taylor consistently presented herself as someone who supported the players and claimed she “had our backs,” but when it actually mattered, when the head coach’s behavior needed to be confronted, she stayed silent. She would tell players privately that things needed to change, but she was unwilling to say any of it directly to the person in power. Saying something after the fact is not leadership, and it did nothing to protect the team when we actually needed an advocate.
What made this even more frustrating was that she constantly wore and promoted the slogan “What a great day it is to be a woman in sports.” In reality, she became the exact example of what I never want to be in women’s sports or in the professional world: someone who talks about values, empowerment, and support, but disappears when real courage and action are required. She chose comfort and self-preservation over standing up for players, and at times enabled and covered for behavior that should have been challenged. The gap between what she preached and how she acted destroyed trust and made her presence more harmful than helpful."
"Taylor Woolard consistently enabled the dysfunction in this program. When the head coach behaved erratically and unprofessionally, she did not protect players or demand accountability; she defended him, covered for him, and helped normalize it. Player concerns were routinely deflected or shut down, and she repeatedly chose loyalty to a failing staff over responsibility to the athletes. She presented herself as supportive, but in practice acted as a shield for the worst behavior in the program. If you are a recruit, do not expect advocacy when things get hard. She will protect the system, not the players."
