"Bartels is embarrassing and has not had improvements to appearance in at least 30 years. Facilities are horribly inequitable. Teams facilities are based upon how much money a team can raise on "Cornell Giving Day" as well as securing other large private donations throughout the year. Equipment availability to diagnose, treat and rehab student athletes is non-existent and/or limited. There is no on site x-ray, no "game ready" machines, no anti-gravity treadmill (except for the one in Barton Hall that belongs to track and field and is collecting dust, but not shared). Most teams don't have athlete lounges, study rooms, and or film rooms. My team shared it's locker room showers with the Ithaca community Zoomba class. Our locker room also continues to have "gang showers". Cornell's solution to updating facilities is to move sports off campus (except for ice hockey, lacrosse and wrestling, of course). NO ATHLETE WANTS TO BE OFF CAMPUS!! When you move us off campus you lose any sense of community. Our friends and other sports teams can't just drop by games to cheer each other on. Please update the sad, inadequate ancient cinderblock facilities (at least paint the blocks for God's sake) and keep us on campus! This is just one of the numerous errors in planning and judgement that Cornell Athletics and the University has made. They never asked the student athletes for their opinion or input and don't care what we think or do! They have failed to do their research into their future donors - typical. "
