"Liar, untrustworthy, deceitful, two-faced...all describe Coach Morgan. She embodies everything that is wrong with College softball. For some reason, colleges tend to hire these narcissistic, lying coaches, and it reflects so poorly on the college. Coach Morgan has only had 1 winning season as a head coach, yet she's touted as a great coach that develops players, but has had multiple losing seasons with over half a decade of coaching. While at CSUN, she ended her career under .500 (basically, a losing record). This year as the head coach of Fresno State, is no exception (23-24). She doesn't know how to communicate with her players, and at the same time she'll lie to the media, parents, and athletic staff that she treats everyone like "family". It's been long rumored that once you get on her bad side, you're done, and there's no coming back. The girls on the team know that if she stops talking to you, she doesn't see you as having any value to her. Everyone already knows that she's been on the hot seat at Fresno State early into her first season as head coach. There's a lot of contention between her and the alumni group, and the Red Wave fanbase is extremely upset with her, for good reason. If she's anything like what she was at CSUN, she's coming to destroy Fresno State's program. Just the sound of her name coming to Fresno State as head coach made a large group of girls transfer out, who were previously part of a winning team. If you sat in the stadium during any home game, you would easily pick up on all the negative comments about her. Also, during one of the away games, the sports commentators referred to the team as the "Bad News Bears". She's only won 2 of the series in the Mountain West league and has somehow been able to keep her job. I thought she was coming in to "re-load" and not "re-build"? After this season, she's going to have to re-build because between the seniors and transfers, there will be a lot of openings. Any parent out there who is considering sending their daughter to play for Coach Morgan and her staff, I compel you to do your research fully. She comes off as being a loving, concerning coach who wants to develop her players to get the most out of them, but that couldn't be further from the truth. She should not be a coach or mentor to young female athletes and I would highly recommend that she has a psychological evaluation. I would be interested to see the results. To the Athletic Director at Fresno State, it's never to late to right a wrong, especially as you head into the Pac-12. I'm sure you made a decision to hire her based on her experience as a player at Alabama, but as a coach she is terrible. Now you're probably seeing why CSUN wouldn't renew her contract. I know some of you who are reading this are thinking "oh, just another disgruntled post", but don't take my word for it. Do your own research and you can easily find out the truth. "
"Horrible human. Disregards compliance regulations, doesn't travel with the team, frequently overlooks the need to feed players, refuses to provide per diems. Hires inexperienced assistant coaches and doesn't take feedback well."
"Coaches were really personable and straight up. My host showed me what a day in the life would be like and gave me good advice. Top of my list for sure."
"Lesia is a very intense but amazing Coach! She truly loves and will do anything for her players. She is vocal and direct which can deter some but is helpful in knowing what you need to do. She has frequent one on one player meetings which really helps you connect and get closer to Leisa. She wears her emotions on her sleeve which shows everyday how much she cares and loves for all her players! A true competitor at heart who wants to win"
"I used to play at Fresno State for her and she was extremely hard to open up to. We have individual meetings every week and it causes everyone anxiety. She is a little hypocritical and some of the things she says I have never heard a coach say to any players. A lot of people decided to transfer out and when they did not only her but the rest of the coaching staff was no help at all for the players after making it clear they would help them along the process.
